AbstractAbstract
[en] A radiochemical method based on isotope dilution has been used for investigating the corrosion process in various aggressive agents. The corrosive effects of hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid and nitric acid on steels 35M-16 and OT-60 as well as on cast iron FC-20 were investigated under various experimental conditions. The non-radioactive iron ions in the solution resulting from the anodic dissolution of the metal sample to be investigated act as internal diluent for the radioactive 55+59Fe3+ ions in the given corrosive system. The corrosion process has been described quantitatively by means of a kinetic parameter called the 'degree of resistivity of the metal sample to the aggressive agent'. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] An isotope dilution method has been used to study the kinetics of the corrosion of OL-32 carbon steel under the influence of hydrochloric acid (0.5 N) in the presence of various mixtures of water with organic solvents. The effect of the reagent (water/organic solvent) on the velocity constant has been studied. In a given system this constant increases with increasing water concentration. This leads to the conclusion that the organic solvent has an inhibiting effect on the corrosive action of hydrochloric acid. sup(55+59)Fe was used as a radioactive tracer (10-3 M FeCl3 with 2 . 10-6 Ci/ml). AbstractAbstract
[en] The invention relates to the sewage treatment, in particular to the sewage biological treatmen from radioactive waste, namely from uranium. The process dor sewage biological treatment from uranium includes cultivation in the sewage of the aquatic plants Lemna minor and Spirulina platensis. The plants cultivation is carried out in two stages. In the first stage for cultivation is used Lemna minor in the second stage - Spirulina platensis . After finishing the plant cultivation it is carried out separation of their biomass. The result of the invention consists in increasing the uranyl ions by the biomass of plants cultivated in the sewage

AbstractAbstract
[en] The use of some ceramic materials for the removal of sup(55+59)Fesup(3+) and sup(60)Cosup(2+) ions from residual waters is discussed. For this purpose chamotte powder was used both in itself and in a mixture with aluminium oxide. The pastes obtained by wetting these materials were shaped in the form of crucibles. The radioactive ions which exist in residual effluents were retained to a large extent on these filters. The leaching of radioactive ions previously retained on the filtering mass was studied under the influence of water and of diluted solutions of hydrochloric acid or sodium chloride. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The study of retaining of 55+59Fe3+ and 115Cd2+ ions from residual waters on ceramic materials is reported. The filtering ceramic materials employed were: chamotte powder (I), mixtures of chamotte powder (90%) + aluminium oxide (10%) (II) and chamotte powder (90%) + sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium oxides (10%) (III). The adsorption isotherms for 55+59Fe3+ and 115Cd2+ ions determined separately for each ceramic material are presented. The leaching of 55+59Fe3+ ions previously adsorbed on these materials was also established. It is concluded that material (III) can be used to retain radioactive ions from residual waters by chemisorption. (author)
