AbstractAbstract
[en] The studies realized in the 30-km zone give an opportunity to reveal changes in the system including hypothalamus, hypothesis and adrenal cortex for persons working at the Pripyat' research and production joint enterprise for a long time. Stable stress in cortisol secretion at absence of expected synchronous increase in secretion of ACTG especially for persons with irradiation doses more than 0.25 Gy is noted. Connection between irradiation dose and adrenal gland secretion decreasing degree is revealed. Hypothetical model of disadaptosis radiation-induced variant is suggested. the conclusion on existance of common pathogenetic basis of many endocrine and psychosomatic diseases is made. 2 refs.; 10 tabs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Full text: The results of clinical investigation of thyroid abnormalities and diseases after the Chernobyl accident for 1986-2005 years in various groups of population are generalized in this work. Methods: standard clinical diagnostic system, ultrasound investigation of thyroid, detection of thyroid hormones were utilized. 30 000 persons of various age exposed to radiation were investigated. Among them were those irradiated 'in utero', who worked during I-131 - period in 1986; being evacuated from contaminated regions and those who lived in contaminated regions. The investigations were chronologically divided into three stages. The first period (1986-1987) was characterized with hormonal changes for children, and less for adults - with increasing of total thyroxin without changes of TSH and free T4. There was dependence between the level of total thyroxin and dose of radiation in children. The maximum level of T4 in children was when the dose of radiation exceeded 2 Gy. There were no clinical symptoms in this period. For the second period (1988-1990) high level of T4 was decreasing. It was found morphological changes in thyroid gland in all groups which corresponded chronicle thyroiditis, which was provided by immunological investigation. The first non-stochastic results of thyroid gland radiation damage had appeared in the third period (1991-1993). They had character of chronic thyroiditis with hypothyroidism. The groups of high risk included children and women (more than 20% and 40% correspondingly). It is possible that chronic thyroiditis with hypothyroidism will be the most serious pathology of population affected by the Chernobyl accident. Thyroid abnormalities in future will influence on the energy supply system of organism especially under conditions of deregulation systems of adaptation and compensation. In other words the abnormalities will conduct to increase in psychosomatic pathology. It is possible that thyroid pathology will influence on development of abnormalities of pubertal period (abnormalities of physical and sexual development), reproduction function and aging. It is necessary to continue long term thyroid screening for population which had suffered from Chernobyl accident for early evaluation of thyroid diseases and treatment of them

AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of a thyroid system clinical-laboratory study among the Chernobyl NPP accident survivors are presented.Studies have been carried out in hospital and out-patient clinics for 13 years since the accident.Over 23,000 persons were examined according to the standardised protocol with general clinical examination, thyroid ultrasonography and hormonal assay.Persons involved were representatives of the surviving population of various registration groups both control and comparison groups.Development of chronic thyroiditis and hypothyroidism - the thyroid radiation exposure non-stochastic effects was surveyed. The direct link between them and radiation exposure, dose threshold and dose-effect relationship were revealed. The role of immuno endocrine and neuroendocrine disorders in the thyroid diseases genesis was fixed in survivors
