AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper investigates the common movements of commodity sectors in China as well as the economic underpinnings of the comovements. We employ a Bayesian dynamic latent factor model to disentangle the common and idiosyncratic sector-specific factors of the prices of a group of China's commodity sectors: petrochemicals, grains, energy, non-ferrous metals, oils & fats, and softs. The results indicate that the common factor accounts for a significant portion of the fluctuations of China's commodity sectors, providing evidence of the strong commodity sector comovements in China. We further use a VAR model to link the common movements across China's commodity sectors to the underlying determinants, including global oil price shocks and domestic macroeconomic fluctuations. We find that the global oil price shocks have strong effects on the common movements across commodity sectors in China in addition to its domestic macroeconomic fluctuations at long horizons. However, at short horizons, the common movements across commodity sectors in China respond more strongly to the global oil shocks than to its domestic macroeconomic fluctuations. - Highlights: • We examine the comovements of commodity prices at the industry level in China. • The common factor accounts for a significant portion of commodity sector fluctuations. • We investigate the joint impacts of global oil price shocks and domestic macro fluctuations on the comovements. • The global oil price shocks have persistent and strong effects on the comovements. • The impacts of domestic macro fluctuations on the comovements differ at short and long horizons.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The finite element analysis model AXISYM in FRAPCON-2 code is used to analyze the pellet-cladding mechanical interaction (PCMI) of the fuel rod of Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant (QNPP). The local stress calculation results are given. Meanwhile, in accordance with LANGER and O'DONNEL empirical formula and MINER law, the code FATIG-1 is developed to analyze the QNPP cladding local cumulative damage factor at the end of lift (EOF) under load-following operation to upgrade the design and safety assessment for QNPP fuel rod

AbstractAbstract
[en] Based on the results of international researches and design feature, the CPR1000 containment model was built by ABAQUS. The analysis of containment structure response is conducted at different pressure and the results are compared by the containment strength test. The influence of thermal loading under severe accident condition was assessed. Finally, the containment ultimate pressure capacity of CPR1000 is obtained. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The environment has aroused greater concern recently in many countries. China ranks as the world's highest in coal consumption, although the energy consumption per capita accounts for only one third of the global average. Yet, the Chinese government has determined to pay more attention to environmental control in the development of the economy and the energy industry. They hope to develop sincere cooperation with various countries in the world on the basis of equality and mutual benefit in the development of clean coal technologies using coal in a more effective, clean and inexpensive way, thus eventually improving the environment in China and the world. This paper reviews some of these efforts

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Japanese fuel behavior analysis code FEMAXI-IV provided by OECD is used to calculate the stress level of Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant fuel rod under pellet clad mechanical interaction (PCMI) and to evaluate the safety margin of PCMI. The threshold of rod power is obtained after the determination of threshold of local hoop stress. The safety margin of linear power is 147 W/cm and the safety margin of local hoop stress is 263 MPa under the accident condition of unanticipated control rod withdrawing according to the threshold

AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect of 2 MeV electron irradiation on interface states of a Au/Langmuir-Blodgett film/InP MIS diode has been studied. It was found by deep-level transient spectroscopy measurement that a broad peak induced by the interface states decreased significantly after electron irradiation. Moreover the surface photovoltaic measurement showed two orders of magnitude reduction of the surface recombination velocity. All this evidence shows that electron irradiation could reduce the density of interface states between InP and the Langmuir-Blodgett film. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Secondary ion mass spectroscopy is used to examine the dark, non-emissive defects on the organic light emitting device. Boundary movements are originated from electrode imperfection. Due to flexibility and movability of polymer layer, distribution variations and a more severe indium and calcium overlapping are detected in dark spot defect area. Boundary movements are not in good agreement between different layers. Interfaces became undulate. The closeness and proximity between the In sharp spikes and cathode metal protrusion leads to the initial point of dark spot. We demonstrate that the presence of cathode imperfection and interface roughness of different layers correlated to the device dark spot formation
