AbstractAbstract
[en] The mineral-geochemical characteristics of Shuanghuajiang uranium deposit is introduced. At this area only secondary U minerals (without any primary U mineral) are found from the surface to the depth of 445m. The uranium isotope ratio 234U/238U, the content of ancient uranium and chemical compositions of various rocks have been studied. The results show that the uranium deposit belongs to an infiltration deposit. Uranium source of the uranium deposit is from Yanshanian granite and not from Indosinian granite. The uranium isotope ratio 234U/238U of Yanshanian granite is smaller than 1 (0.08 - 0.978), whereas that of Indosinian granite is greater than 1 (1.038 - 1.058). In addition, the Yanshanian cataclatic granite provides silicon and calcium for uranophane that is a mainly valuable mineral in the uranium deposit

[en] Black uranophane found in a leaching type uranium deposit that occurs in granite is described. Chemical analyses, x-ray data and other mineralogical data are given. Results of study show that the difference between black and yellow uranophane is that the former contains U4+, but the form of existence of U4+ in the mineral is not known

AbstractAbstract
[en] Beijing Research Institute of Uranium Geology has carried out a research programme of deep underground disposal for high-level radioactive wastes sponsored by the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) since 1985. Analogue studies have been focused on bentonite as a buffer material. Evaluation of a uranium ore body in granite as an analogue of a radioactive waste repository was commenced last year under the support of CNNC and IAEA

AbstractAbstract
[en] Since the early 1980's, China has steadily developed technology and policy for LLW/ILW disposal and has proposed the regional disposal principle open-quotes establishing the regional disposal site and disposal of radwaste as near the origin as possibleclose quotes. The construction of the first radioactive waste disposal site in China was began in 1995. The site characterization of the Guangdong disposal site for LLW/ILW was completed in 1995. The site screening of the East China disposal site for LLW/ILW will be begun in this year

AbstractAbstract
[en] For disposal of low- and intermediate-level solid radioactive wastes, shallow-ground disposal can provide adequate isolation of waste from human for a fairly long period of time. The objective of disposal site selection is to ensure that the natural properties of the site together with the engineered barrier site shall provide adequate isolation of radionuclides from the human beings and environment, so the whole disposal system can keep the radiological impact within an acceptable level. Since the early 1980's, complying with the national standards and the expert's conception as well as the related IAEA Criteria, geological selection of disposal sites for low-and intermediate-level solid radwastes has been carried out in East China, South China, Northwest China and Southwest China separately. Finally, 5 candidate sites were recommended to the CNNC

AbstractAbstract
[en] With the purpose of selecting a disposal site for the low- and intermediate-level radwastes arising from Qinshan NPP, site investigations were carried out in several districts of Zhejiang Province. Investigation objectives included the circumstances of geology, hydrogeology, environmental ecology, and social economy. On the basis of collected data, five possible sites were recommended for policy-making reference and further investigation
