AbstractAbstract
[en] The ZD-I Intelligent Scaler is a new kind of high-powered scaler using high-speed CMOS96 series single chip processor. It not only has the normal timing, counting functions, but also can supply 0-2000 V high voltage, storage or print measuring data, communicate with PC by RS232 interface, transfer measuring data. And there is essentially improvement on the panel. Keyboard without dialing switches and rheostats can perform all the operations, and the setting parameters wouldn't lose when you shut down the scaler. So the ZE-I Intelligent Scaler is a perfect updating production of the NIM-style scaler and the HV-generator

AbstractAbstract
[en] The three bump magnets in the booster extraction system of SSRF are driven by a signal generator with an external trigger. The signal generator must have three independent and controllable outputs, and both amplitude and make-and-break should be controllable, with current state information being readable. In this paper, we describe a signal generator based on FPGA and DAC boards. It makes use of characteristics of both FPGA flex programmable and rich reconfigurable IO resources. The system has a 16-bit DAC with four outputs, using Matlab to write a GUI based on RS232 protocol for control. It was simulated in Modelsim and tested on board. The results indicate that the system is well designed and all the requirements are met. The arbitrary waveform is writable, and the pulse width and period can be controlled. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the paper, we describe the design of the microwave power interlock and protection device for Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility. The control circuit is the core of this interlock and protection system, which achieves the real time monitoring and control of microwave system interlock and protection signal and modulator interlock and protection signal. This system is capable of implementing signal transmission, too, with PLC. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Background: For construction of free-electron laser (FEL) apparatus, we designed a high-power solid-state modulator system based on the module of insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) switch. Purpose: To meet the higher performance requirements of linear accelerator microwave power source for the FEL. Methods: The module circuit of the high-power modulator is introduced, as well as the critical auxiliary circuit including protection circuit of IGBT, damping circuit, demagnetization circuit and compensating circuits. Results: The whole modulator system is simulated by using software and the module differences that may occurred. The modulator with inductive adder topology can generate a 130 kV, 100 A and 13 MW pulse power. Conclusions: The results show that the inductive adder pulse modulator technology is feasible. AbstractAbstract
[en] Based on analyzing the modulator's hardware and the characters of the circuit, the 110 MW pulse modulator's controller has been designed. And the purpose of this work was to ensure the modulator's stability, credibility and safety, and to make the modulator accord with the control-demand of the 100 MeV linear accelerator. After being debugged and tested, it was found that the design achieves the request of controlling and guarding the modulator safely. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper describes two types of pulsed power supplies for the SSRF injection system which is based on solid-state switches. One is a 1.7 keV, 10 kA septum pulser, while the other is a 7.8 kV, 3.7 kA kicker pulser. The charging power supply, discharging switch, structure of the discharging circuit, and feed-back of current are discussed. The prototypes and the simulation show that the stability of the current magnitude is better than ±0.1% and other main targets reach the design requirement. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The high-power pulse modulator of LINAC will produce strong electromagnetic interference when it runs. To meet the EMC requirements for high performance LINAC operation, the pulse modulator should be shielded. This paper presents the research on electromagnetic radiation interference produced by LINAC modulators, the analysis of the possible leaky passes, the shielding efficiency and the measurement of the modulator's EMI. The results show that the EMC design of the modulator cabinet can restrain electromagnetic interference. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The paper describes design of a 11O MW pulse modulator controller for a 100 MeV Linac, The controller adopts PLC to accomplish real-time monitoring of modulator interlock signals and circuit status signals, flow controlling of thyratron preheating system and klystron preheat system. It provides control of H.V. CCPS and communication between the controller and control room of the accelerator. Long-term running of modulator shows that controller can work reliably and stably.
