AbstractAbstract
[en] Activity of the Inst. of Nuclear Physics of National Nuclear Center of Republic of Kazakstan relating with establishment and production of isotopes on the base of research reactor and isochronous cyclotron is elucidated. It is noted, that during 10 years (1986-1995) 5.4 Ci of radioactive pharma preparation (RPP) Tl-201 was produced and delivered to different medical establishments and there were examined 3 thousand patients. Effective technology of of regeneration of technological wastes containing expensive thallium-203 isotope is carried out and is introduced to operation. Annual income from thallium wastes regeneration amounts more than $ 44.000. Possibility of RPP Tl-201 receiving in reactions on helium-3 ions is shown. Manufacture of thallium-201 during irradiation of two-layer targets by ion beam with current 50μA is economically proved. Technology of cobalt-57 getting is realized, as well as methodic of radiochemical separation of plutonium-236, -237, -238 radionuclides from uranium target, irradiated by alpha particles. The got sources of plutonium have been used in capacity tracers during perfection of methodic of definition of plutonium content in soil samples of Semipalatinsk test site. Great volume of researches is fulfilled on carrying out of methodic of definition of element and multielement content of petroleum, ,bitumen. geological samples and environment objects (ecological problems), based on atomic-emission methods

[en] The techniques of radionuclide and element analysis are carried out at Inst. of Nuclear Physics in the Lab. of Nuclear-Physical Methods of Analysis and Lab. of Radioactive Isotopes. These techniques are based on alpha-, beta-and gamma-spectroscopy, radiochemical separation and x-ray-fluorescence and atomic-emission analysis with inductive connected plasma. The software of the radiometric methods is based on ideas of standard-free definition of measuring samples's absolute activity. The comprehensive radiochemical technique of plutonium-, americium- and strontium-90 separation from one sample of soil is worked out

AbstractAbstract
[en] There is investigated a radionuclide composition of the soil samples, selected in various parts of former Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site (SNTS). The gamma-spectrometric method was used for determination of 137Cs and 241Am. For determination of 90Sr and isotopes of plutonium a radiochemical separation was used. The results of determinations show a distinction in distribution of radionuclides on depth for various investigated areas and for various size fractions of surface layers. The study of the size fractions has shown an enrichment of a magnetic fraction by 241Am. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A complex of studies on production at the Institute of Nuclear Physics cyclotron of the gallium-67 isotopes is the first stage of organization of the radiopharmaceuticals manufacture on the gallium-67 (gallium citrate) base. The radioactive gallium-67 has been produced by 68Zn(p, 2n)67Ga reaction at irradiation of the target by protons, in this time from the target material the isotopes of copper and zinc are produced. With aim of the radiopharmaceuticals production the method of extraction chromatography (column variant) are using. The technological scheme of processing of the irradiated zinc target with extraction of the Ga-67 radioisotope in the citrate form includes the following procedures: the target solution in the hydrochloric acid; separation of of the gallium-67 from zinc and copper with application of the three-N-octylphosphine oxide; evaporation of the purified solution with following transformation of the Ga-67 in citrate form

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the report there are presented results of works of the Laboratory of Nuclear-Physical Methods of Analysis and the Laboratory of Radioactive Isotopes, INP NNC RK, on investigation of radionuclide composition of soil of the SNTS (the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site). There are developed techniques of radionuclide and elemental analysis with use of alpha-, beta-, gamma- spectroscopy, of radiochemical separation of roentgen-fluorescent and atomic- emission analysis with inductive- connected plasma. A software of radiochemical methods is based on ideas of standard definition of absolute activity that allows to carry out determinations in samples of different masses. The solution of the task of determination of radionuclide composition in soil fraction required a development of complex technique for radiochemical separation of plutonium, americium, and strontium-90 from the same probe. As the main method of radiochemical separation there is used the extraction chromatography with next extragents: Trioctylamine (TOA), trioctilphosphineoxide (TOPO), di-2-ethilhexil of phosphoric acid. The investigation of radionuclide composition of soils (and, especially, their fractions) shows a large difference of concentrations and relations of radionuclides and their entrance forms. The results of works will be used for characterization of radioecological situation at the SNTS, at present, and for prognosis of radionuclide migration. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The main results of radioisotope production at the Kazakhstan Isochronous Cyclotron (k = 50 MeV) are presented. The features of target irradiation and design of internal target are considered. In INP methods for radiopharmaceutical 'Tl-201 - chloride' production in small quantities for using in nuclear medicine were developed. At the time being the methods for Co-57, Ga-67, Cd-109 and Pu-237 production are being developed. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the report there are results of work on radioactive isotope production at cyclotron at Nuclear Physics Institute of Kazakhstan National Nuclear Centre. Isochronous cyclotron U-150 M helps to obtain light ion beams with regulation of energy in the range: protons 6-30 MeV, deuterons 12-25 MeV, alpha-particles 25-50 MeV, helium ions-3 18,6-62,8 MeV at average current of ∼200 μA at inner and ∼30 μA at outer target. The purpose of the operations performed is to create effective production of cyclotron isotopes used in medicine, science and industry as for domestic so for foreign market. Total work includes adaptation of cyclotron facility to new operation conditions and design of necessary radiochemical techniques: formation of inner and outer cyclotron beam, development of beam diagnostics system, development of inner target structure, enhancement of the available and development of new radiochemical techniques on producing radioisotopes Tl-201, Co-57, Ga-67, Cd-109. In the report there are results of measuring inner beam parameters and thermal load calculations on targets. We have described regeneration method of thallium-203 with 98% release from technological waste during production of radio-pharm product 'Thallium - 201 - chloride'
