AbstractAbstract
[en] Neutron-induced effects have been studied in Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) designed at CEA/Saclay and IPHC/Strasbourg. 55Fe X-rays were used to assess the detection capabilities. The pedestals and the temporal noise were studied together with the charge collection efficiency. The results are compared to estimations of the deep trap introduction rates. For neutron-integrated fluxes up to 1012 cm-2, these MAPS are weakly degraded by irradiation

AbstractAbstract
[en] We propose a new set of measurements which can be performed at the LHC using roman pot detectors. The method exploits excitation curves in central di.ractive pair production, and is illustrated using the examples of the W boson and top quark mass measurements. Further applications are mentioned

AbstractAbstract
[en] The data taken at the Tevatron experiments have been analyzed to search for Higgs bosons. For the Standard Model Higgs searches, no excess is observed, the data are in good agreement with the expectations, so that limits are set on the production rates. For various theoretical models beyond the Standard Model, there is no excess either, which allows to derive constraints in their respective parameter spaces

AbstractAbstract
[en] We use a Monte Carlo implementation of recently developed models of inclusive and exclusive diffractive W, top, Higgs and stop productions to assess the sensitivity of the LHC experiments. We also discuss how the Tevatron experiments could test the models and measure the gluon density in the pomeron, which is needed to make precise predictions at the LHC

AbstractAbstract
[en] Recent Run 2 experimental results on electroweak physics from the CDF and D0 collaborations at Tevatron are reviewed. They present measurements of the inclusive W and Z boson cross-sections times leptonic branching ratio as well as the Z/γ* forward-backward asymmetry and the W± charge asymmetry for p(bar p) collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV. The first Run 2 studies for the W width and W mass measurements are also reported. The di-boson production results are presented elsewhere

AbstractAbstract
[en] The recent measurements of the top anti-top quark pair production cross-section in proton antiproton collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV in lepton + jets and dilepton (including tau lepton) channels are presented. These measurements are based on 1 fb-1 of data collected with the DO experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The measured values are compatible with the standard model prediction and have the uncertainty close to the uncertainty of the theoretical prediction ∼10%

AbstractAbstract
[en] A gas jet experiment at the LHC to search for CP-violation in the B0- anti B0 system is described. It can give good results due to very selective triggers and accurate measurements using a compact, full coverage, vertex detector and identification of particles, hadrons and leptons. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We report recent measurements of the three CKM angles of the Unitarity Triangle using about 383 millions b(bar b) pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. The results of the angles (β, α, γ) of the unitarity triangle are consistent with Belle results, and with other CKM constraints such as the measurement of εK, the length of the sides of the unitarity triangle determined from the measurements of Δmd, Δms, |Vub|. This is an impressive confirmation of Standard Model in quark-flavor sector.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Ceramic Electron Multipliers (CEM) is a compact, robust, linear and fast multi-channel electron multiplier. The Multi Layer Ceramic Technique (MLCT) allows to build metallic dynodes inside a compact ceramic block. The activation of the metallic dynodes enhances their secondary electron emission (SEE). The CEM can be used in multi-channel photomultipliers, multi-channel light intensifiers, ion detection, spectroscopy, analysis of time of flight events, particle detection or Cherenkov imaging detectors.
