AbstractAbstract
[en] Free and total prostate specific antigen (F-PSA and T-PSA) in serum were measured with immunoradiometric assay and the F/T-PSA ratio was calculated in 175 patients with T-PSA levels in the range of 4-20 μg/L. Among them 141 patients were benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), 23 were untreated prostate cancer (Pca untreated) and 11 were treated prostate cancer (Pca treated). The results showed that difference in F-PSA and F/T-PSA ratio for BPH group and Pca untreated group were statistically significant (P<0.01). The effectiveness of F/T-PSA ratio for Pca (89.9%) was higher than F-PSA (54.8%). The receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve showed an improved diagnostic efficacy of F/T-PSA ratio compared with T-PSA for discrimination between BPH and Pca. If mean F/T-PSA ratio value + 1 SE (13.2%) was used in BPH group as discrimination limits of Pca patients, the diagnostic accuracy of BPH group and Pca untreated group were 90.8% and 82.6% respectively. Thereby F/T-PSA ratio may be useful for the differentiation between BPH and prostate cancer

AbstractAbstract
[en] To investigate the levels of carbohydrate antigen 19-9 in the urine samples of the patients with bladder cancer and to evaluate its clinical diagnostic value. Urine samples were taken from 30 patients with bladder cancer, 53 with benign, 22 with malignant urological diseases and 35 with malignant tumors from other systems, together with 30 normal subjects which have no any history of cancers or other urological diseases. CA19-9 was assayed by Chiron Diagnostic Corporation ACS: 180SE. The CA19-9 level of the group with bladder cancer was 159.0 +- 128.0 U/mL, while that of the group of control was 12.4 +- 8.4 U/mL. The critical points were determined as the mean value of the group of control +-1.96SD, then >28.9U/mL was considered as positive. The diagnostic sensitivity for bladder TCC were 86.7% and specificity were 68.2%. CA19-9 level in the bladder cancer group was significantly different from that of control group (P<0.001), and also different from those of other groups. The urine CA19-9 level in the group of benign urological diseases was 53.9+-77.9%, significantly higher than that of control (P=0.001), but not significantly different from those of the group of other urological cancers and other systems cancers. Preliminary study indicates that CA19-9 urine samples study is a non-invasive auxiliary index for the clinical diagnosis of bladder cancer. The method is simple and useful. But the interference fro mother benign and malignant diseases as well as gene-types should be considered in clinical practice

AbstractAbstract
[en] The refollow-up has been carried out in hypothyroidism caused by 131I treatment for Graves disease. The serum HS-TSH(IRMA), FT3, TSH(RIA), TT3, TT4, FT4I, MCA, TGA, Cholesterol and Triglyceride has been measured in 26 patient after 131I treatment for 9.5 years in average. At the same time TRH stimulation test was also performed, and the clinical symptoms and signs assessed. The results showed that TSH is the most sensitive criterion for hypothyroidism, followed by Cholesterol and FT4I. The occurence of hypothyroidism may be related to the presence of thyroid antibody as demonstrated by the elevation of serum MCA, TGA. Therefore measurement of serum TSH, FT4I and Cholesterol during long term follow-up is beneficial for early diagnosis of hypothyroidism and evaluating the effect of substitution treatment

AbstractAbstract
[en] Radioligand binding assay of gastrin receptor (GR) was established to determine GR content and Kd of gastric cancer and mucosa in specimens of 34 patients. Both of Gs-5 and [leu15]Gs-17, as unlabelled ligand, can inhibit the binding of 125I-(leu15)Gs-17 to the membrane, and the inhibiting effect of Gs-5 is slightly stronger than that of (leu15)Gs-17. Mixed cellulose acetate filters have better effect to separate bound 125I-(leu15)Gs-17 from free 125I-(leu15)Gs-17 than glass fibre filters (Hongguan 999999). The GR of gastric cancer correlates with that of mucosa in the same region of 34 patients

AbstractAbstract
[en] Objective: To investigate the effect of different membrane on the clearance of serum β2-MG in maintenance hemodialysis patients. Method: 106 maintenance hemodialysis patients randomized divided into group A and group B. Group A used cellulose triacetate membrane (N-130E), Group B used polysulfone membrane (F6). The levels of serum β2-MG before and after hemodialysis were compared in Group A and B, respectively. Results: Before hemodialysis, the level of serum β2-MG was not significant different between Group A and B (46.74 ± 19.46 mg/L vs 47.49 ± 16.71 mg/L, P>0.05). In Group A, compared with that before hemodialysis, the level of serum β2-MG after hemodialysis decreased significantly. (46.74±19.46 mg/L vs 39.76 ±17.66 mg/L, before HD vs after HD, P<0.05). In Group B, there was nodifference in the levels of serum β2-MG between before and after hemodialysis (47.49±16.71 mg/L vs 50.19±22.76 mg/L, P>0.05). Conclusion: N-130E dialyzer is better than F6 dialyzer as the effect of clearance serum β2-MG is concerned

AbstractAbstract
[en] To explore the relationship between PRL, GH(RIA), GH(RRA) serum levels changes and the onset and development of disease in patients with SLE, and to understand the hormonal changes in active and inactive phase of disease, 28 cases and 20 controls were studied. The results showed that anti-ds-DNA serum level in active and inactive phases was higher than those in controls (P<0.01) and also there was significant difference between active and inactive phase (P<0.01). Moreover, there is significant difference in PRL level between the patients in active phase and the controls (P<0.05), also in GH serum level between the patients and the controls (P1<0.01) and the patients in inactive phase (P2<0.05). This study indicated that the higher serum level of PRL, GH(RIA), GH(RRA) is correlated with some autoimmune characteristics of SLE, especially in its active phase. Therefore it gives some help for clinical study of SLE

AbstractAbstract
[en] Radioiodinated AMT is a new positive imaging agent for brain tumour. In this paper, its radioiodination, purification, and biodistribution in mice is described. AMT was labelled with 125I/131I using either chloramine-T or iodogen method. The labelling rate was 60% to 80%. After column chromatography on Sephadex LH-20, the radiochemical purity was greater than 98%. Animal experiments showed that 125I-AMT was eliminated from blood rapidly and was mainly excreted through kidney. 5, 15, 30, 60 minutes after tail vein injection, the radioactivities of brain tissue per gram was 4.14%, 2.50%, 2.13%, 1.24% of injection dose respectively
