AbstractAbstract
[en] The aim of fuel management in Phenix and Superphenix 1 is to improve fuel assembly performance while ensuring that the assemblies behave normally. Phenix, which has now been operating for over ten years, has a management tool (the Caphe code) which has proved highly reliable, particularly in forecasting assembly characteristics. This tool has been supplemented by two other tools for monitoring the reactor, with which assembly lifetimes can be optimized as refuelling operations take place. The Superphenix 1 management tool is the Supercaphe code. The assembly management criteria for Superphenix 1 are similar to those for Phenix. As with Caphe, the basic principle underlying the calculations of assembly characteristics is the theory of the interactions of perturbations. The Supercaphe code also has a module for optimizing fuelling schedules. For each reactor, the paper describes the criteria to be borne in mind, the management tools used and, for Phenix, the performance achieved by means of these tools. (author)
