AbstractAbstract
[en] A partial wave-amplitude analysis of the angular distributions in the reaction anti pp → π0π0 at 25 energies was performed. The range of center of mass energies covered is from 2.12 to 2.43 GeV and includes the so-called T- and U-meson regions. A resonance is found in the J/sup PC/I/sup G/ = 2++0+ state in the vicinity of the T (2.15 GeV) and data are consistent with an additional resonance of 4++0+ at the U (2.35 GeV). An isospin decomposition utilizing these data in conjunction with those from anti pp → π+π- reveals possible difficulties in interpretation. 25 references

AbstractAbstract
[en] A high sensitivity search for massive long-lived particles produced at 2.5mr by 400 GeV/c protons on a beryllium target using time-of-flight, Cerenkov, and calorimetric techniques has been performed. A total of 1011 light particles (π-, K-, anti p) was sampled at 70 GeV/c. This experiment places a limit of 1.1x10-37 cm2 /(GeV/c)2/nucleon on the invariant cross section for the production of stable particles in the mass range of 4 to 10 GeV/c2. As a by-product of this search the relative production rates for anti p, anti d, anti t, anti-He-3, and anti-He-4 are also measured

AbstractAbstract
[en] We present high-statistics results on the reactions a + p → c + X where a and c can be any of π+, K+-, p, or p-bar. The data were taken at 100 and 175 GeV/c incident momenta using the Fermilab Single-Arm Spectrometer operated over the kinematic range 0.2 < x < 1.0 and p/sub t/ < or = 1.0 GeV/c. Investigating the x dependence of the data, we find agreement with a quark-parton picture, namely the cross sections have a power-law behavior in 1 - x independent of p/sub beam/ and p/sub t/

[en] Measurements are presented from a counter-optical spark chamber experiment of the differential cross sections for anti ppAπ0π0,π0eta0 at 25 momenta in the range 1.1-2.0 GeV/c (c.m. energy 2.12 to 2.43 GeV). Approximately 750000 pictures were taken in the experiment. (Auth.)

[en] A partial wave amplitude analysis is presented of the differential cross sections for anti pp→π0π0 at 25 energies from 2.12 to 2.43 GeV. The results suggest the presence of a Jsup(PC)Isup(G) = 2++0+ resonance at 2.15 GeV. An isospin decomposition of anti pp→π+π- is also presented. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The relative probability distribution of π+- and π0 mesons in anti pp annihilation was measured in 10 MeV bins from 2.15 to 2.23 GeV. No significant variation in probabilities was found, and mean values are consistent with those reported at 2.28 GeV. Observed multiplicity distributions are consistent with two-body cascading on the statistical model under equal weighting of G=+-1 states. (Auth.)
