AbstractAbstract
[en] The data on the content of heavy metals and radionuclides in the water and the bottom sediments of the Araz River in the villages of the Saatli and Imishli regions of Azerbaijan were studied by mass spectroscopy and radio spectrometry. The ecological state of arable and pasture soils has been studied. Some water and soil samples showed high levels of molybdenum, copper, manganese, and other metals. We also studied the photosynthetic activity of some agricultural plants grown in areas along the Araz River.

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this paper there was shown the result of several experiments. The first aim of the investigation is determination of relation of survival rate, feeding and excretion activity of aboriginal earthworms (Nicodrilus caliginosus Sav. trapezoids) under the gamma radiation (200, 500, 800, 1000, 1200 Gy) dose effect and lethal dose. The second aim is determination of possibility of protector function of saphora (Safora japonica) and hypericum (Hypericum perforatum) after irradiation. It was investigated that 1000-1200 Gy doses are lethal doses after fifth day of exploration. As well it was determined that, Saphora japonica acts as high effecting, but hypericum as low effecting radioprotective substance.

AbstractAbstract
[en] As a result of the reaction of tryptophan with copper (II) chloride, a complex of copper tryptophan ate was obtained. The composition of the complex was studied by elemental, thermal, Χ-ray phase analysis, IR, and UV spectroscopy. The anti radical activity of the complex was studied on irradiated wheat seeds. It was revealed that the treatment of wheat seeds before irradiation with an aqueous solution of complex leads to normalization of the biosynthesis of photosynthetic pigments.
