AbstractAbstract
[en] The small angle elastic scattering of protons with protons and antiprotons has been measured at 52.8 and 30.4 GeV center-of-mass energy. Using the known total cross-section for pp scattering, a simultaneous fit to the panti p and pp differential cross sections allows to determine the difference between the panti p and pp total cross-sections and the ratio of the real-to-imaginary part of the pp and panti p forward nuclear scattering amplitudes at both energies. In addition, the nuclear slope parameter at low momentum transfer is obtained for pp and panti p at 52.8 GeV. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In a study of 5.8 10/sup 6/ J/Psi decays, the MARK-III experiment at SPEAR has observed a new narrow state, called ξ, in the radiative decays to K/sup +/K/sup -/ and K/sub s/0K/sub s/0, at a significance level of 4.5 and 3.6 S.D., respectively. Mass, width and product branching ratio are presented for both modes

AbstractAbstract
[en] Beta-gamma directional correlation measurements performed on the mirror β-decays of 20Na and 20F are found compatible with the absence of second-class currents. The corresponding amplitudes is at most 12% of that for weak magnetism. For the time part of the first-class axial amplitude, the experiment yields a value about two times that calculated on the basis of the impulse approximation. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The CHARM-II collaboration, through the measurement of the shape of the differential cross-sections of neutrino and antineutrino-electron elastic scattering, has confirmed the existence of a coupling of right-handed electrons to the Z0. By measuring the ratio of these cross-sections, it has provided a determination of the electroweak mixing parameter and by the measurement of the absolute cross-sections, it has determined the effective vector and axial-vector neutral current coupling constants. The combination of the CHARM-II results with those of the e+e- scattering experiments at LEP, allows a determination of the coupling of the muon-neutrino to the Z0 and supports neutrino flavour universality. This experiment provides also new limits on the electromagnetic properties of the muon neutrino. These results as well as the measurement of the inverse muon decay, provide a clear experimental support to the standard model of electroweak interactions. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The β(E0=11.76 MeV)-γ(1.63 MeV) directional correlation has been measured as a function of the β-energy in the decay of 20Na. Denoting the correlation function by Wsub(+)(theta)=1 + αsub(+)(E)cos2theta, the result can be expressed phenomenologically as αsub(+)(E)=[(-4.0 +- 0.7) x 10-3E + (1.3 +- 0.9) x 10-4E2](p/E)2, where E is the positron total energy in MeV and p its momentum in MeV/c. Assuming the correctness of nuclear structure calculations and the validity of the conserved vector current theory, it indicates the presence of a second-class current in the nuclear weak interaction.
