AbstractAbstract
[en] A short survey is given about the work performed by the Nuclear Spectroscopy Research Group of the Institute in the last few years. The nuclei under investigation (9798100Tc and 9496Nb) were produced via (p,n) reactions from enriched targets. The γ-, γγ-coincidence, and conversion electron spectra of the reactions were taken with Ge(Li), 'thin-window' hyperpure Ge, and superconducting magnet transporter Si(Li) spectrometers. The energies and the intensities of the observed radiations as well as the excitation functions of the reactions were measured. Level schemes; multipolarities of transitions; energies, spins and parities of nuclear levels have been deduced. The level schemes have been compared with the results of recent shell model calculations. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the article the scientific cooperation between ATOMKI (Debrecen, Hungary) and two laboratories of the JINR (Dubna) in the field of the production and investigation of new isotopes is described. Between 1965 and 1980 several new short-lived radioisotopes produced by heavy-ion cyclotron or by proton synchrocyclotron were studied by nuclear spectroscopy: 191Au, 190Hg, 187Hg, 195Tl, etc. About isotopes of 16 elements, 220 new gamma radiations as well as new data concerning energies and intensities for another 250 were found. Further possibilities are also discussed. (Sz.J.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The structures of sup(114)In, sup(102)Rh, sup(100)Tc, sup(98)Tc, sup(96)Nb, sup(94)Nb, sup(82)Br, sup(76)As, and sup(70)Ga odd-odd nuclei were investigated with in-beam spectroscopic methods. The nuclei were produced from enriched isotopes through the (p,nγ) reaction. Using different spectrometers and semiconductor detectors, data were obtained on the energies and intensities of hard and soft γ-rays, conversion electrons, on γ-threshold energies, reaction cross sections, multipolarities of transitions, different coincidence relations, energies, spins and parities of excited states. The energy levels of the nuclei were calculated on the basis of parabolic rule derived from the cluster-vibration model. Many proton-neutron, proton-phonon-neutron quasiparticle (and cluster) multiplet states were identified. Conclusions are drawn on the applicability of the parabolic rule for the theoretical description of multiplet states. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Theoretical and experimental aspects of the formation of some ''exotic'' nuclei far off the stability line were reviewed in addition to the relevant results of research in this field. Results in beta- and gamma-ray spectroscopy, heavy-ion-spectroscopy, achievements in the fields of measuring the atomic mass, the moment, and the radius of the nuclei as well as some astronomical aspects were described. AbstractAbstract
[en] The paper shortly surveys the characteristic features of the in-beam spectroscopic nuclear structure research. On the basis of the available experimental reaction energies the lightest isotopes of the 11<=Z<=72 elements are given which may by produced by U-103 external beams. After surveying the nuclear data of the available lightest isotopes, the possibilities of obtaining new data are treated. Several problems are listed at which new nuclear information is expected from in-beam γ and conversion electron spectroscopic measurements. The last chapter shortly summarizes the most important experimental technics. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The main features and advantages of a new low energy nuclear spectroscopic method, the in-beam spectroscopy are described. Results of in-beam spectroscopic experiments performed at the Institute of Nuclear Research (ATOMKI, Debrecen, Hungary) are summarized. Gamma spectra of in-beam produced odd-odd nuclei were measured, gamma-energies were determined. Measurement of gamma-gamma coincidences led to the construction of energy level schemes of the investigated nuclei. Internal conversion electron spectroscopy was used to determine the multipolarities of transitions. A few spectra and level schemes are presented to illustrate the review. Theoretical interpretation of experimental results are briefly summarized. (D.Gy.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The aim of the present work was the calculation of the energy levels and electromagnetic properties of the low-lying positive parity states of 114In within the framework of the interactive boson-fermion-fermion / odd-odd truncated quadrupole phonon model (IBFFM/OTQM). This model has proved formerly to be effective for the description of 116In and 112In. (author) 10 refs
