AbstractAbstract
[en] New oxotechnetium complexes of general formula [99mTc(O)(PNS)(S(CH2)nOSiR3)] (4-6) were synthesized by direct reduction of [99mTcO4]- with stannous chloride, in the presence of the tridentate heterofunctionalized phosphine H2PNS and of the monodentate silylated thiols [HS(CH2)nOSiR3] (n=2, R=Ph (1); n=3, R=Ph (2); n=3, R=Et (3)). The mixed-ligand rhenium and technetium complexes of general formula [M(O)(PNS)(S(CH2)nOH)] (n=2: M=99mTc, (7), M=Re, (7a); n=3: M=99mTc, (8), M=Re, (8a)) were also prepared. All the 99mTc complexes were obtained with high radiochemical purity (>95%), after purification by HPLC, and were characterized by comparison of their HPLC profiles with the ones obtained for the corresponding Re compounds. The silylated compounds 4-6 are stable in phosphate saline buffer (PBS) pH 7.4, rat plasma, human serum and whole blood, and do not bind to plasmatic proteins, and also do not challenge with glutathione. The biological behavior of [99mTc(O)(PNS)(S(CH2)nOH)] (7, 8) and [99mTc(O)(PNS)(S(CH2)nOSiR3)] (4-6) was studied. The effect of the pH on the cleavage of the O-Si bond in complexes 4-6 was also evaluated

AbstractAbstract
[en] In intraplate oceanic volcanic islands, groundwater is the most important water resource and therefore, to monitor its quality is basic to use them in a sustainable way. Santiago Island, located in Cabo Verde Archipelago is included in the works of the ADAPTaRES project (Adaptation to climate change in Macaronesia through efficiency in water use and reuse). One of the objectives of the project includes the evaluation, optimization and demonstration of reclaimed water in agriculture and promotion of good irrigation practices adapted to climate change and drought. The use of reclaimed water in agriculture is almost an imperative in arid and semiarid climates. The challenge is to use a combination of water quality and irrigation management practices to avoid any negative affection to the aquifer. To assure this challenge, in Santiago Island several wells that exploit the island aquifer and a spring, close to the sewage treatment plants of Santa Catarina and Santa Cruz, have been monitored in June 2017 and January 2019. The same values were obtained in both dates for nitrate (35-50 mg/L in monitored wells and 70 mg/L in the spring) and CE (from 450 to 1200 μS/cm in wells and 720 μS/cm in the spring). Two groundwater points were selected to monitor Nicotine, Caffeine and its metabolite, Paraxantine, and 8 pharmaceutical products. In the selected well near Sta Cruz´s ETAR, the emerging pollutants analyzed (except for caffeine) are not detected. In Santa Catarina´s spring, besides Caffeine and its metabolite, two anti-inflammatories have been detected. As in Gran Canaria previous studies, the highest emerging compounds values obtained in groundwater coincided with higher EC and nitrate contents. In this sense, the aquifer can integrate nitrate from septic tanks, irrigation return flows and sewage systems leakages, which are also sources of organic contaminants. More studies are necessaries to understand the Santiago Island aquifer behaviour.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The CBERS-4 is a low Earth orbit satellite, with a set of antennas S-band/UHF for communication almost omni-direcional. For the electromagnetic radiation from transmission antennas, was developed a model of electromagnetic disturbance considering the antennas theory and the laws of the conservation energy-momentum. Was propagated the orbit of the CBERS-4 satellite considering your state vector from the March 14, 2016, at 11h 14m 15.23s using the equation of motion in the form of cartesian components. From the state vector of the CBERS-4 satellite was possible to propagate the orbit for different periods, without disturbance (considering just the problem of two bodies) and with a disturbance of electromagnetic origin. The model of reaction of electromagnetic acceleration on the satellite depends on only the type of antenna. Quadrifilar and parabolic propeller antennas were considered in this paper. Using the equation of motion of the satellite based on the method of Runge-Kutta of fourth and fifth degree, the effect disturber this modeling was applied on the CBERS-4 considering the mass of satellite, characteristics of antenna, power irradiated and gain maximum of antenna. The final analysis discusses the values of components in the direction (radial, cross and normal) and the coordinates X-Y-Z considering the case disturbed to both antennas. (paper)

AbstractAbstract
[en] This study describes the development of anthers and pollen in heterostylic flowers of two species of Erythroxylum. The features of anthers and their developmental pattern, which is of the dicotyledonous type, do not vary according to morphs or species. The pollen grains of both morphs show differences in their morphology, development, and content stored as a reserve source. In both species, thrum (short-styled) flowers presented bicellular pollen grains, while pin (long-styled) ones yielded bi- and tricellular pollen grains. The presence of inviable pollen grains in the two flower morphs of both species and the malformation of one of the four microsporanges in the thrum flowers of E. campestre are noteworthy. We verified that features found both in the anther wall and in the pollen grains could be related to the reproductive success and adaptation of the species to the Brazilian savanna biome. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the scope of the monIT Project, it was found that fluorescent and compact fluorescent lamps are also important sources of radiation. More than increasing electromagnetic field (EMF) levels in a particular environment, the radiated EMFs from ballasts may cause interference in other devices. Two different lamps are analysed, both in terms of their radiated frequency spectrum and of their compliance with European EMF recommended exposure levels. As expected, the analysis of results shows that, in the immediate vicinity of a lamp, EMF levels radiated by lighting devices depend on the lamp power. Finally, one can conclude that EMFs radiated from both lamps are in compliance with the EMF reference levels. (author)
