[en] Considered is a system for remote control of californium-252 distribution along the cores of medical neutron sources by the method of γ-scanning. The system consists of miniature installation for γ-scanning, mounted in the hot chamber, and of equipment which provides automatic control of this installation. A brief description of the system operation is presented, main parameters of the γ-scanning installation are given

[en] Heterogeneous equilibria in the Mo-Te-I system are studied. To determine ranges of Mo6Te8-yIy phase stability in the ternary system Mo-Te-I and to choose rational conditions for their synthesis processes of molybdenum interaction with tellurium in the double system and molybdenum with tellurium and iodine in the ternary system have been investigated by the methods of DTA, X-ray phase and tensiometric analyses. A scheme of Mo6Te8-yIy phase synthesis is suggested, as well as scheme of its thermal decomposition. It is shown that the phase of the composition Mo6Te6I2 is the most thermally stable one

AbstractAbstract
[en] As known, the plasma focus discharge anode is a high power source of X-ray radiation (XR) due to bremsstrahlung of electron fluxes in a MegaAmpere range with it. At an energy level exceeding 1013 W/cm2 an explosive contact zone (CZ) evaporation resulting in the emergence of the high pressure accompanied by spall formation takes place. In the numerical experiment it has been shown that for explaining the experimentally observed spalling parameters in a thin (∼ 1 mm) anode plate one can assume the hypothesis about the CZ-expansion in time. In a given paper an experiment on the X-ray radiation CZ-chronography with a speedy photoregistrator SPER6, and with an X-ray radiation converter is represented. The produced results show that the CZ--in various discharges--is expanded with the velocities close to those from a cited reference which rise with an increase in the X-ray radiation intensity. The size of an expansion zone is essentially greater than that found in the referenced work due to the anode surface heating--not taken there into account--by photon radiation of the pinch. In operation with the converter made of a thin plastic scintillator, NE-102, it was possible to obtain a chronogram of the zone, where multicharged Ta-ions were accelerated to the energy of ∼ 100 MeV, at the transversal size shorter than 1 mm

[en] Ressults of investigation into the value metal damages at 200-300 MW units are presented as well as of investigation into the fracture properties of casmetal of the valves that have been operated within different periods of time. It is established that the valve body castmetall can reliably operate up to 2x105 h under a proper control

AbstractAbstract
[en] Causes of power plant armature fracture and measures to reduce its damage in operation are considered. Taking 15Kh1M1FL steel as an example, one shows that it is necessary to use more pure charge when producing armature castings, and to provide sufficient ductility of a casting. In operation one should observe permissible heating and cooling rates, avoiding the occurence of high thermal stresses

AbstractAbstract
[en] The multichannel device for absolute and relative measuring radiation energy of pulse lasers is described. The measurements are performed by means of mini-computers and CAMAC units. As radiation detectors silicon diodes are used. The attained accuracy constitutes 1% at relative and 5% absolute energy measurements. Absolute sensitivity of the measuring channel is approximately 1.0-8 J. The technique accurate checking of linearity of energy measurements requiring no comparison with a calibrated standard is suggested

AbstractAbstract
[en] This work deals with an analysis of cumulative effects in Plasma Focus discharges resulting in plasma jet generation. Experimental results of studies of the plasma jet interaction with different targets are presented. New opportunities to produce soft X-ray (SXR) radiation are discussed. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The aim of the study was to reproduce a superalfvenic collisionless shock wave by using the Plasma Focus Facility as the plasma source. The experiments were performed on the PF-3 Facility (Plasma Focus Filippov-type) at an energy supply level of up to 1 MJ. At compression of the current-plasma sheet to an axis in the stage of plasma focus formation, cumulative plasma jets driven along the axis with a velocity of ∼107 cm/s were produced. This directed driving was achieved in the ambient plasma resulting from the working gas ionization by X-ray radiation of the plasma focus. A transversal magnetic field of up to 2500 G was created by a magnetic system based on rare-earth magnets. The experimental conditions made it possible to perform experiments with Alfven Mach number MA≥3. The experiments have shown that superalfvenic plasma jets with a plasma density of ∼5 x 1016 cm-3 and a velocity of ∼107 cm/s can be produced by plasma focus discharges at current levels of up to 3 MA. Compression of the magnetic field in the shock wave front and plasma jet deceleration were demonstrated
