AbstractAbstract
[en] A simple model is presented which allows to compute easily ΔGO2 and ΔHO2 at any temperature, oxygen and plutonium content for UPuOsub(2+-x). Some implications on the nature of the defects are drawn, values for their energy of formation are given and their concentration may be computed

AbstractAbstract
[en] Direct measurements of ΔH(O2), the partial molar enthalpy of solution of oxygen, have been performed, at 1373 K, with a high-temperature microcalorimeter, in the plutonium + oxygen system. The variation of ΔH(O2) with composition gives new information, especially in the PuOsub(1.5) to PuOsub(1.75) region, which are in agreement with the new phase diagram proposed by Boivineau (J. Nucl. Mater.; 31:38 (1976)), from high-temperature X-ray studies. This system is similar to cerium + oxygen. (author)

Modelling the effects of spatial variability on radionuclide migration1998
Modelling the effects of spatial variability on radionuclide migration1998
AbstractAbstract
[en] Performance assessment is faced to a number of uncertainties inducing discrepancies in modelling results. Sedimentary rocks and fractured media have to be considered separately. As uncertainties lowers the confidence level, regulators demand the waste management organizations to provide proof of their ability to deal with the dispersion of the parameters. Several techniques have been developed using geo-statistics, fractals, stochastic direct or indirect modelling, and applied both to sedimentary and fractured media. (R.P.)
