AbstractAbstract
[en] The production properties of Ksub(s)0, anti Λ and Λ in K+ p interactions at 32 GeV/c are investigated using the final statistics of the experiment. We present total and semi-inclusive cross sections and average multiplicities. Estimates are given of the diffractive dissociation contributions to total and differential cross sections. The x-, psub(T)-, and transverse mass dependence of inclusive and semi-inclusive distributions is discussed as well as properties of ''prompt'' Ksub(s)0's. The ratio of ''prompt'' Ksup(*+)890 (Ksup(*0)890) to ''prompt'' K0 cross sections is measured to be 1.03+-0.12 (0.98+-0.17). From a comparison of anti Λ production in Ksup(+-) p interactions at 32 GeV/c, we estimate a strange sea-quark suppression of 0.26+-0.02. The double differential cross sections of Ksub(s)0's is studied as a function of Feynman-x and psub(T)2, and a Triple-Regge fit performed. The data are compared in detail to versions of the LUnd-model for low-Psub(T) hadronic collisions. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We present final results on inclusive production of Ksup(*+)(890), Ksup(*+)(1,430) and anti Ksup(*-)(890) in anti K+p interactions at 32 GeV/c, based on a statistics of proportional27 events/μb. Total cross sections, psub(T)- and z-dependence of inclusive distributions are compared with experiments at other energies and with the Lund fragmentation model. Spin density matrix elements of the Ksup(*+)(890) are also discussed. The results suggest that ''recombination'' of both initial state valence quarks anti s and u of the K+ into Ksup(*+)(890), responsible in the Lund model for proportional45% of the Ksup(*+)(890) cross section, is strongly suppressed. AbstractAbstract
[en] Average number of ρ0, K*0(890) and anti K*0(890) produced in peripheral collisions (with the number of 'grey' protons ng≤2) of K+ with Al and of π+ with Al and Au nuclei at 250 GeV/c are measured in the EHS(NA22) experiment at the CERN SPS. No evidence is found for suppression of vector meson production relative to K+p and π+p collisions at the same energy. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Inclusive production of direct soft photons is studied in K+p and π+p interactions at 250 GeV/c. Total cross sections, Feynman-x and transverse momentum distributions of direct γ's are presented. The measured cross sections are several times larger than expected from QED inner bremsstrahlung, indicating the presence of an anomalous soft photon source. The model of Lichard and Van Hove, based on the 'cold quark-gluon plasma' picture, agrees with the data. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Compensation of transverse momentum is studied in π+ p interactions at 250 GeV/c. Significant pT-transfer is found between c.m.s. hemispheres. With respect to the beam axis transverse momentum is compensated over the whole event, with respect to the sphericity axis mainly within one hemisphere. The highest pT in the event is mainly compensated by increased multiplicity. The QGSM and FRITIOF models qualitatively reproduce these effects, but important differences are observed. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We present results on the inclusive polarization of ß anti hyperons produced in K+p interactions at 32 and 70 GeV/c. A large positive ß anti polarization is observed in the kaon fragmentation region. The polarization is energy independent, increases strongly with increasing chi, but shows essentially no rhosub(T)-dependence. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Collective characteristics are studied of hadrons produced in beam fragmentation of non-single-diffractive π+p-interactions at 250 GeV/c. An attempt is made to obtain experimental information on the properties of leading cluster production and fragementation. On average, the leading cluster carries 0.8±0.1 of the incident momentum, so that the mean value of the inelasticity coefficient of < k>=0.2±0.1 is significantly smaller than that deduced from leading single hadron spectra. The momentum transfer distribution shows that non-single-diffractive processes are less peripheral than diffraction dissociation. The analysis of thrust and sphericity shows jet-like structure of pion fragmentation, that of the charge flow an average forward charge of < Qf>=0.45±0.04 in agreement with the average charge of the beam valence quarks. Our data are compared to diffraction dissociation and to the Fritiof model. (orig.)
