AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect of impact loading on crystal structure of rare earth oxides Sm2O3, Dy2O3, Er2O3, Yb2O3 and Y2O3 is studied. It is stated that after gradual impact compression up to 12-35 GPa the oxides transfer from the cubic C- form into the monoclinic B-form. These transformations can result from decrease of interion distances in the lattice and electron rebuilding in metal atoms as a result of high pressure effect

[en] Dependence of shock-wave sensitivity of a composition on the basis of hexagon (TG 30/70) on exposure dose of soft X radiation in the range of 103-5x104 rad has been ascertained by the gap-test type method. It is shown that with a growth of irradiation exposure dose the shock-wave sensitivity to first increases and then decreases, passing through a maximum. 4 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The crystal structure of austenitic Kh18N10T steel specimens cut out of vessels broken by explosion is studied by the methods of X-ray diffraction analysis. It is shown that combined impact loading and high-speed deformation result in an appreciable decrease of the γ-phase stability; γ-α-phase transition is observed under considerably lower pressures and deformations as compared to those under conditions of quasihydrostatic or pure deformation of the material

AbstractAbstract
[en] The process is studied of symmetrical radial expansion of thin rings made from the annealed titanium alloy VT14 under the action of an inside short impact. Dynamic and static ''true stress-true strain'' dependencies and the dependence of the dynamic yield limit on the strain rate are presented. The samples cut from the starting ring have been subjected to X-ray analysis. It is shown that at the high-rate tension the alloy under study possesses a far higher ductility than at the static tension. The dynamic alloy ductility is limited by the formation of a brittle ω-phase of titanium

AbstractAbstract
[en] The paper presents review of techniques and results of experimental studies of structural transitions in solids under shock-wave loading. The developed explosion-proof containers allow to save studied samples after explosive loading up to pressures exceeding 100 GPa. The authors present results obtained by studies of solid structures of various types (metals, chemical compounds, etc.) after compression of them by shock waves. The studies were carried out with use of the methods for metallographic, X-ray structural, and electron-microscopic analyses. It is shown that in majority of the considered cases the phase transitions of solids in shock waves occur in accordance with the martensite type. For determination of the fact of melting at shock-wave compression, the method for loading of composite sample is suggested. The composite sample consists of studied sample and more fusible one that is a melting indicator capable to form solid solutions or intermetallic compounds with material under study. Results of study of Bi, Sn, Pb, Cd, Zn with the help of this method are presented
