AbstractAbstract
[en] Role of different physical processes, dictating the dynamics of MHD-instability development in Z-pinch constriction, is analyzed. The role of magnetic field diffusion and plasma radiation in approximation of Bremsstrahlung losses is investigated. Numerical simulation is conducted with the use of two-dimensional MHD program MAG. The main attention is paid to dynamics of shock wave movement, its coming out to the system axis and hot point formation. The successive evolution of the hot point shows, that shock waves begin to propagate from it in axial direction along Z axis. 6 refs., 3 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] There is a great variety of approaches in code constructing, which are used now for plasma flows in megagauss magnetic fields simulation. These include Lagrangian, Eulerian, as well as Lagrange-Eulerian codes. The code MAG for plasma modeling in an arbitrary moving coordinate system and its present stage of development are described. The use of an arbitrary moving coordinate system allows us to simulate flows with large deformations inside the flow region, conserving the correct description of conditions on its weakly deformed boundaries. [en] It has been demonstrated experimentally that wire explosion is connected with cold core formation and leads to a complex magnetic field profile. The paper is primarily aimed at analyzing this phenomenon by numerical modelling. A series of calculations was carried out using 1D radiation the Lagrangian MHD code ERA. AbstractAbstract
[en] The focus of the work is on the study of some physical mechanisms connected with Rayleigh-Taylor-type MHD instabilities development. The numerical results are compared with experimental data obtained by the High Current Electronics Institute at Tomsk. The dependence of the liner stability and radiation output on the mass of liner, its initial radius, and cascade scheme has been investigated at Tomsk. The paper attempts to explain by 1D and 2D MHD modelling the experimental data and to analyze the role of the main factors determining the liner implosion: magnetic field penetration into the body of plasma, heat conductivity, radiation transfer. Some phenomena are investigated: shock wave motion, ionization, axial plasma motion, and others. For double gas puff, the collision of the outer cascade with inner plasma is investigated in detail. [en] The paper is devoted to the investigation of instability evolution, generated not by initial Z-pinch outer boundary perturbation but by perturbation in initial temperature. Treatment of this process was developed numerically, using the 2D MHD code MAG. The results obtained show that although higher modes appear, they do not become the leading modes.
