[en] Isostructural borides in Ln-Ni-B systems, where Ln-rare earth of yttrium subgroup are defined. It is noted that Ln2Ni10B5 (Ln-Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Er, Tm, Yb, Ln) borides have structure of Ho2Ni10B5-type, sp.gr. Pbca, Z=8. Linear decrease in elementary cell parameters and volume indicate trivalent state of lanthanides in borides of the said composition

[en] By the method of monocrystal the crystal structure of a new type for HoNi2B2 boride was ascertained, being as follows: sp. gr. C 2/c, a=8.411(2), b=5.199(1), c=6.911(1) A, β=126.93(2) deg, R=0.051. Coordination numbers of Ho, Ni and B atoms equal 20, 13 and 8(6+2) respectively. Coordination polyhedron of boron atom is a deformed trigonal prism; boron atoms are bound in pairs (B2)

[en] Phase equilibria in Ho-Te-B and Ho-Cu-B ternary systems were studied. It is shown that formation of solid solutions on the basis of binary compounds is not typical for studied systems; all ternary borides of Ho-Fe-B system form at constant composition. Substitution of copper (with completely occupied d-sublevel) for iron leads to simplification of component interaction
