AbstractAbstract
[en] After an introducing speech on chemistry as a science at the heart of future energies, the contributions of this colloquium first addressed the following issues: our energy future is to be decided now; chemistry and electric power production; water and energy are inseparable; the R and D challenges in chemistry in the field of fuels and biofuels; chemistry and its R and D in nuclear industry. Then, a first session addressed technological challenges on the short and medium terms: strategic materials for energy, nuclear waste separation and management, and biomass as a renewable raw matter. The second session addressed initiatives for the future: to live while saving this dear and expensive energy, CO2 and micro-algae for a renewable chemistry, electric power transport networks and energy transition. Two contributions have been finally proposed, the first one about electricity storage (a key element for the deployment of renewable energies and of the electric vehicle), and the second one about chemistry and energy challenges (political, economic and social aspects)
