AbstractAbstract
[en] We present an analysis of the KsoKso system produced in the reaction π-p→KsoKso at 63 GeV based on ∼ 700 events in the kinematical region of |t|<0.5 GeV2. We concentrate on masses between 1200 and 1600 MeV where a double maximum structure is observed. Performing an amplitude analysis in this mass interval we find that S, Do and D+ waves contribute to the mass spectrum at approximately equal strength. The peaks are attributed to spin 2 waves. However, we failed to explain them by interfering f(1270), A2(1310) and f'(1520) resonances alone. While the first peak can be associated with f(1270) -A2(1310) production, an additional tensor meson is needed with mass of ∼ 1410 MeV and a narrow width for a description of the second one. The analysis as well as the energy dependence deduced from some published KsoKso mass spectra suggests this object to be dominantly produced by a natural parity exchange. Because the 2++qq-bar nonet is already complete the nature of the new tensor meson is an open question. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the experiment NA11 at the CERN SPS the MC68000 based FAMP system has been successfully implemented in a second stage trigger. It was used in a study of inclusive phi-meson production to select phi → K+K- decays by determining the charged K-meson trajectories and calculating the K+K- invariant mass. A trigger rate reduction by a factor of 25 and an increase in the number of recorded phi-decays per unit time by a factor of 8 has been achieved. (Auth.)

[en] A narrow enhancement is observed in anti pp states produced inclusively in proton-proton interactions at 93 GeV. The mass 1940 +- 1 MeV is consistent with that of the S(1936). (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Results are presented of an experiment studying inclusive -meson production off protons by hadrons of 93 and 63 GeV incident momentum. Evidence is found for an enhanced probability of observing additional strange particles when the final state contains a PHI meson. This supports the assumption that central production of mesons proceeds, for a significant part, by the OZI allowed fusion of strange quarks. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A sample of about 230000 events of the reaction π-p → π+π-n, measured with a magnetic forward spectrometer set up in an unseparated π- beam with a momentum of 63 GeV/c at the SPS has been analysed in terms of one pion exchange. The elastic π+π- cross section has been determined using an extrapolation to the pion pole in the mass range up to msub(π+π-) = 4 GeV. The total π+π- cross section is obtained via the optical theorem. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Nearly 200 000 example of the diffractive process K-p → Ksub(-)πsub(-)πsub(+)p at 63 GeV have been obtained using a two magnet spectrometer equipped with cerenkov counters for secondary particle identification. In addition some 2 000 examples of the process K-p → ωK-p have been obtained. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The inclusive reactions h + p → PHI + X, (h = πsup(+-), Ksup(+-), psup(+-)), are studied for 0 approx. <= xsub(F) approx. <= 0.3 and psub(perpend. to) <= 1 GeV at 93 and 63 GeV incident momentum. Differential cross sections dsigma/dp2sub(perpend. to) and dsigma/dxsub(F) are presented and are compared with predictions of the naive parton model. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Total and differential cross-sections have been measured for the reactions π-p → (π0,eta,eta')n. The results agree with those of two experiments carried out in the same energy range, apart from measurements at high /t/ for the charge-exchange reaction π-p → π0n. The latter indicate a deviation from the prediction of a single Regge-pole model with linear trajectories at high incident momentum and high momentum transfer. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Jsup(PC) = 2-+ partial wave intensities and their large phase changes prove the resonant nature of the A3 meson (mass approx. 1670 MeV, width approx. 210 Mev). The decay modes are f0π, rho0π, and epsilon0π. Evidence is found for a further 2- enhancement. (orig.)
