AbstractAbstract
[en] The paper presents the results obtained from the study of a radiofrequency (RF) oscillator developed for use in an RF ion source, for the development of a low energy charged particle accelerator. An investigation was made on the main factors attributing to the operating frequency of the oscillator. Four different RF coils are constructed using a copper tube for studying the different operating frequencies. The RF output power was measured using a modified form of the photometric method. The variation of RF power with operating frequency are discussed. (paper)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In India, the 14 UD Pelletron Accelerator at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai (BARC-TIFR Pelletron) and Folded Tandem Ion Accelerator at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC-FOTIA) are main accelerators which serve as "7Li(p,n)"7Be neutron sources for neutron induced reaction cross section measurements. Various activation cross section measurements have been performed for neutron captures up to E_n~17 MeV with these neutron sources. Since the TOF and multiple foil activation techniques cannot be applied at these accelerators due to the continuous beam structure and weak neutron flux, we have to rely on calculated neutron energy spectra for subtraction of the "7Li(p,n1)"7 Be contribution. We, therefore, developed a new deterministic code EPEN - Energy of Proton Energy of Neutron
