AbstractAbstract
[en] In a field study in Zuerich, aerosol number size distributions and mass concentrations were measured simultaneously on a kerbside (main road with traffic lights) and a background monitoring station. From the concentration differences real-life emission factors were derived using NOx concentrations to calculate dilution factors. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the GDR acoustic emission analysis is being applied primarily in connection with hydraulic pressure testing of vessels in chemical industry. It is, however, also used for testing and monitoring of equipment and components in other branches of industry. The state-of-the-art is presented with regard to equipment needed, training of personnel, licensing of testing methods and appropriate testing procedures. In particular, the evaluation of the sum curves and amplitude distributions is explained, using rupture tests of two oxygen cylinders and a compressed-air bottle as examples. (author)
