AbstractAbstract
[en] Phase analysis of La1-xCaxFeO3-0.5x perovskites synthesized from oxides on ceramic method are done using the methods of x-ray analysis and differentiating dissolution. It is shown that at x<0.5 this system not forms continuous series of homogeneous solid solutions and not consists of members of homologous row. At x<0.5 system is two-phase and includes calcium ferrite nanoparticles situated on surface of lanthanum ferrite. Formation of structures of homologous row on the base of brownmillerite at x>0.5 is corroborated. Catalytic activity of perovskites depends nonmonotonously on x value and reaches maximum at x=0.6

AbstractAbstract
[en] Highlights: • La_1_−_xCa_xFeO _(_3_−_δ_) (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.7) perovskite were prepared by Pechini method. • Planar defects in direction (1 0 1) were observed in the perovskite surface. • α-Fe_2O_3 particles (1–10 nm) on the surface of perovskite were revealed. • Amount of α-Fe_2O_3 particles on the perovskite surface grew with rising x values. - Abstract: Solid solutions with La_1_−_xCa_xFeO_3_−_δ (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.7) perovskite-like structure prepared via Pechini route have been investigated by using high resolution transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Extended planar defects lying in (1 0 1) crystallographic planes and α-Fe_2O_3 nanoparticles on the surface of perovskite microcrystals are characteristic of the samples under investigation. It was found that testing of the samples in catalytic deep CH_4 oxidation process results in partial destruction of solid solutions with formation of planar defects in the bulk and α-Fe_2O_3 particles on the surface
