AbstractAbstract
[en] The symposium was held on OctoOer 8-12, 1984 in Vienna. It was attended by 90 specialists from 36 member countries and organizations of the IAEA. The presented papers dealt with the international dose assurance service, the standardization of the measurement of high doses, dosimetry for industrial irradiation, the problems of determining doses at the phase interface of metal and ceramic materials, so-called radical dosimetry, the use of LiF dosemeters, the measurement of doses and profiles of accelerated electron beams, lyoluminescence, the application of different types of dosemeters in measuring high doses, etc. (M.D.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Special nuclear analytical methods contribute significantly to the identification of the origin, manufacturing technology and/or authenticity of objects of art and historical monuments, Such methods primarily include variants of X-ray fluorescence analysis and activation analysis. The former enables non/destructive testing of materials, the latter features a high sensitivity. The article presents numerous examples of use of such methods especially in the Czech Republic (or former Czechoslovakia). (author)

[en] Fesup(III)(phen)sub(3)sup(3+) in aqueous solution is reduced rapidly with radiolytic H atoms. The rate constant is k= x109 dm3mol-1s-1. An additional reduction reaction observed caused probably by (CH3)2C(OH)CH2 radicals is somewhat slower (k approximately 107 dm3mol-1sec-1. The product of both reactions is the stable Fesup(II)(phen)sub(3)sup(2+) complex. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] On the pulse radiolysis of aqueous borate solution (pH 9.5) containing iodide, I2- with G(I2-)=G(OH) radical is formed. The observed I3-, formed by combination of I2- is in equilibrium with I3I2 and other iodine containing species. I3- disapears apparently as a result of reactions of I2 with H2O2 and O2-. (author)
