AbstractAbstract
[en] This article is devoted to theoretical aspects of aluminium production. Thus, the electrochemistry of electrolysis process, calculation of base industrial indicators of aluminium electrolytic cell, and processes occurring on anode and cathode were considered. Factors, which increase the current output and electrolytic cell productivity were studied. The side effects, including anode effect, sodium extraction on cathode, aluminium dissolution in the electrolyte, aluminium carbide formation, and influence of admixtures in the electrolyte were studied as well.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Present article is devoted to technology of processing of solid residues formed at sulfuric acid decomposition of alumina- and fluorine wastes of aluminium production. The results of studies of development of technology of processing of solid residue formed after sulfuric acid decomposition of alumina- and fluorine wastes of aluminium production have been considered. The efficient conditions of water treatment of solid residue have been defined. The flowsheet of processing of solid residues formed at sulfuric acid decomposition of alumina- and fluorine wastes of aluminium production has been elaborated.

[en] Present article is devoted to influence of current density and temperature of the electrolyte on anode gases composition and specific carbon consumption in aluminium production. On the basis of developed equations the composition of anode gases and specific carbon consumption at various values of anode current density and electrolyte temperature has been calculated.

[en] The results of pilot tests of obtaining method and application of cryolite-alumina concentrate obtained from sludge in aluminium production are considered. Chemical and mineralogical composition of initial raw material and cryolite-alumina concentrate are studied. The tests are shown that concentrate can be used as anode cover of electrolytic cells.

[en] This chapter is devoted to construction of aluminium electrolytic cells, their installation and dismantling. Therefore, the general characteristic and classification of aluminium electrolytic cells was considered. The anode and cathode structure was studied. The lining of cathode casing, the process of collection of anode gases, electrolytic cell cover, and electrical insulation was studied as well. The installation and dismantling of aluminium electrolytic cells was described.
