AbstractAbstract
[en] The low density polyethylene with additives of the flame retardants type was irradiated by 60Co source, 4 kGy/h, and with 13 MeV electrons, 1,5x104 kGy/h, at various conditions. G(alkyl) obtained from ESR measurements were lower for polyethylene than for blends, but crosslinking efficiency was lower in the presence of additives and dependent on dose rate. The influence of additives has been explained by different reaction pathways available to the free radicals as the result of change of polymer structure and local heating of materials. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Dose Reader CD-02 is designed for measurement of dose from a long narrow band of dosimetric foil used for check up and control of electron beam dose during sterilization of materials and products on conveyor belt. Irradiated foil after processing (heating) is inserted into foil driving (moving) system and when the foil is moved across focused light beam the absorbed dose is measured and displayed at the same time at computer monitor (in form of a diagram). The absorbed dose is measured on the principle of light attenuation at selected light wavelength (foil absorbance is measured). (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Mixtures of low density polyethylene and flame-retardant additives were irradiated with a 60Co gamma source and with 13 MeV electrons from a linac at temperatures of about 20 0C. ESR measurements were performed immediately after irradiation and after storage at room temperature. It has been found that the formation of radicals depends on the additives, dose and storage time. With increasing dose the overall concentration of radicals in samples irradiated with electrons decreases. The correlation between the ability to form allyl radicals and the extent of cross-linking is explained by differences of radical mobility in the presence and absence of additives. (author)
