AbstractAbstract
[en] The positive parity decoupled bands in odd-odd nuclei 126Pr, 128Pr, 130Pr, 132Pr, 134Pr and 134Pm have been investigated using the particle rotor model. The aim was to find the valence proton-neutron configuration for the decoupled bands by comparing the calculated energy levels and transition probabilities with experimental results

AbstractAbstract
[en] Fusion, transfer and breakup reactions and their relative importance on reaction mechanism involving weakly bound projectiles is a topic of intense current interest. In this context, several experimental studies have been performed over the years utilizing projectiles of both stable and unstable weakly bound nuclei. The systematic of inclusive, reaction and total fusion cross sections with various projectiles have been highlighted in these studies. However, the neutron transfer cross sections with these projectiles have not received much attention. 9Be, being a cluster structure of α + α + n, with a breakup threshold of 1.67 MeV, the neutron may play major role in reaction dynamics. In the recent paper of 9Be + 187Re system, complete (CF), incomplete fusion (ICF) and neutron transfer cross sections have been measured. In the present work we have estimated the neutron transfer cross sections from Coupled Channel Calculations and also deduced the relative importance of CF, ICF and neutron transfer with respect to the reaction cross sections

AbstractAbstract
[en] Here we present the results of our experimental investigation of 126Te populated via incomplete fusion α-channel and 129Xe populated via compound nuclear fusion 4n-channel in the same experiment. A γ - γ coincidence experiment with four HPGe clover detectors was performed using a target of 124Sn and 9Be beam of energy 46 MeV delivered by the Pelletron accelerator at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the literature, the phenomenon of signature inversion in nuclei has been explained using many different arguments, e.g., triaxial nuclear deformation, neutron-proton interaction. The signature splitting and signature inversion in the most intensely populated negative parity band of 126I has been observed. Here the results in terms of cranking model and particle-rotor model have been presented and discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] Many nuclei in the mass region ∼ 130 e.g. 138Gd, 136Sm, 134Nd, 132Ce, 130Ba, 128Xe have been found in the literature to have K-isomers. The nucleus 126Te has been chosen for studying K-isomerism. This nucleus is expected to have γ - soft behavior and may exhibit K-isomerism as predicted by Xu et al. The energy states up to 10 h have been identified in 126Te. The plan was to build the level scheme first and then look for the isomer, if there is any. Here the experimental result on the excited states of 126Te have been presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] The phenomena of chirality and decoupling were the main motivation towards studying the odd-odd nucleus 126I. So far, in the literature the nucleus 126I was produced using the reaction 126Te (p, n)126I and very low lying states have been reported. Here we present the identification of the gamma transitions belonging to 126I and the population of its high spin states with very good cross-section
