AbstractAbstract
[en] A detailed analysis of inclusive Ksup(*+,0)(890), anti Ksup(*-,0)(890), Ksup(*+,0)(1420), PHI, rho0 and f(1270) resonance production in K+ p interactions at 70 GeV/c is presented. The data are compared with the results available at lower energies and with quark-parton model predictions. Our main finding is that fast Ksup(*+,0)(890), PHI and rho0 production can be interpreted in terms of either single anti s or single u kaon valence quark recombination and thus may provide information about the kaon structure function. It appears that the kaon valence quarks carry about 50% of the K+ momentum, with the strange anti s-quark carrying approximately twice the momentum of the u-quark. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Energy, charge and strangeness flow in Ksup(*)p interactions at 32 and 70 GeV/c, and π+p interactions at 32 GEV/c are studied in terms of the angular variable lambda=vertical strokexvertical stroke/psub(T). The data on dQ/dlambda and dE/dlambda shows only a weak indication of scale breaking between 32 and 70 GeV/c. For inclusive 'nondiffractive', inclusive 'diffractive' and exclusive 'non-diffractive' jets, the fraction of charge in any angular region ΔΩ away from the central region is found to be proportional to the energy fraction in the same interval. The data on dQ/dE versus lambda are compatible with some versions of dual-sheet models and agree also with the LUND Monte-Carlo model. The data are also compared with ν(anti ν)p interactions in BEBC. In exclusive channels the average ratio dQ/dS=0.78+-0.04 is consistent, in the framework of fragmentation models, with a larger probability for the fragmentation of the anti s-valence quark than the u-valence quark in the K+-meson. AbstractAbstract
[en] We present results on the inclusive polarization of ß anti hyperons produced in K+p interactions at 32 and 70 GeV/c. A large positive ß anti polarization is observed in the kaon fragmentation region. The polarization is energy independent, increases strongly with increasing chi, but shows essentially no rhosub(T)-dependence. (orig.)
