[en] Design features and results of investigations into high-power accelerating relativistic klystron for a VLEPP complex are described. A special attention is paid to parasitic oscillation suppression. AbstractAbstract
[en] In the RF windows used for accelerators and others, accompanying the increase of electric power of passing RF waves, the deterioration and breakdown become the problems. It is considered that this breakdown phenomena begin from multipactor and the local overheat and discharge at the dielectric window materials by RF electric field itself. For preventing the breakdown, the selection of the materials of high voltage endurance and the thin film coating of TiN and so on with small secondary electron emission coefficient for suppressing multipactor are effective. If the electric field intensity on ceramic surfaces can be lowered, the prevention of breakdown can be expected further. Recently the traveling wave in ceramics (TWC) type RF window, in which the electric field on ceramic surface was lowered by devising the construction of the RF window, has been proposed. The construction of the RF window, the experimental specimens, the large power test and so on are reported. From these results, it was found that the TWC type window with low electric field in alumina is promising as the RF window for large electric power. However, it is necessary to select alumina ceramic with high endurance as the window material, and it was confirmed that as multipactor occurs, the coating for suppressing it is required. (K.I.)

[en] The structure and operation of the SHF 5 cm- range power amplifier prototype - the multiresonance gyrocon, are described. The EhLIT-L2 accelerator serves as the beam source for the prototype. The results of numerical simulation of beam optics in the gyrocon channel and the calculations of the amplification factor and the device efficiency are presented. Pulse power 60 MW with pulse duration 0.7 μs, the amplification factor of 65 dB are obtained in experiments with the given device. The power is absorbed in the load and it is measured by the M3-47 calorimeter. The 25% gyrocon efficiency reached in limited by the electric strength of an output resonator. The gyrocon is aimed at the excitation of the linear collider accelerating structure
