AbstractAbstract
[en] The hyperfine splitting constant A /sub N/ of nitroxide radical signals in EPR was measured and correlated with several systems of solvent parameters in 26 sol vents. The linear correlation data show the dielectric approach is in general not appropriate to determine the properties of solvents. A proper description of solvent effects can be achieved only by the parameters sensitive to the electron charge density redistributions

AbstractAbstract
[en] Comparison of values of CN band splitting of acetonitrile CH3CN and CD3CN in solutions of the third group cations allowed to elucidate the assignment of the bands observed to the ν2 and ν3+ν4 modes. It has been found that the values of splitting of CN band are proportional to the polarizing power of cations with small deviations which may be connected with contributions of other kinds of interactions to the electrostatic one. AbstractAbstract
[en] PMR spectra of ethylene, diethylene, and triethylene glycol and of their solutions with cobaltous perch orate were analyzed. The introduction of cobaltous ion is followed by the separation of the signal of non-equivalent methylene groups, which are equivalent in pure diethylene and triethylene glycols. It is explained by the hydrogen bond structure in glycols broken by electrolyte. All proton signals in the spectrum of glycol solutions are shifted downfield in comparison to pure glycols. The obtained results indicate that the coordination of glycol ligands is bidentate, and takes course through the oxygen atom of OH groups. Isotropic shifts and coupling constants in the [Co(glycol)3] (ClO4)2 complexes were estimated. In order to explain the observed experimental variations of proton screening in the examined systems, there was assumed a spin density delocalization mechanism. (author)
