AbstractAbstract
[en] DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) standards are generally introduced as de facto and de jure standards in modern medical imaging devices to store and to transmit medical image information. DICOM Dose Structured Report (DICOM dose SR) is implemented to report radiation exposure information in image acquiring process. and DIOCM Modality Performed Procedure Step (DICOM MPPS) is also partly used to report this exposure with the information in its DICOM tag. This article is focused on three type of radiation exposure information of DICOM standards, 1) DICOM dose SR, 2) DICOM MPPS and 3) Radiation Exposure Monitoring(REM) profile by Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise(IHE), to study on radiation exposure reporting. Healthcare facility and its staff of medical imaging related to radiation exposure should have a deep understanding of radiation exposure, and it required a standards to enhance the quality control of medical imaging and the safety of patients and staffs. Staff member have to pay attention on radiation exposures and controlling processes from the purchasing stage of X-ray devices

AbstractAbstract
[en] The most commonly used sleeving materials are thermally treated Alloy 600 and thermally treated Alloy 690 Alloy. Currently, thermally treated Alloy 690 and Alloy 800 are being offered although Alloy 800 has not been licensed in the US. To install sleeve, joint strength, leak tightness, PWSCC resistance, evaluation on process parameter range and the effect of equipments and procedures on repair plan and radiation damage have to be investigated before sleeving. ABB CE provides three type of leak tight Alloy 690 TIG welded and PLUSS sleeve. Currently, Direct Tube Repair technique using Nd:YAG laser has been developed by ABB CE and Westinghouse. FTI has brazed and kinetic sleeve designs for recirculating steam generator and hydraulic and rolled sleeve designs for one-through steam generators. Westinghouse provides HEJ, brazed and laser welded sleeve design. When sleeve is installed in order to repair the damaged S/G tubes, it is certain that defects can be occurred due to the plastic induced stress and thermal stress. Therefore it is important to minimize the residual stress. FTI provides the electrosleeve technique as a future repair candidate using electroplating

AbstractAbstract
[en] Room-temperature operating CdZnTe(CZT) material is an innovative radiation detector which could reduce the patient dose to one-tenth level of conventional CT (Computed Tomography) and mammography system. The pixel and pixel pitch in the imaging device determine the conversion efficiency of incident Xor gamma-ray and the cross-talk of signal, that is, image quality of detector system. The weighting potential is the virtual potential determined by the position and geometry of electrode. The weighting potential obtained by computer-based simulation in solving Poisson equation with proper boundaries condition. The pixel was optimized by considering the CIE (charge induced efficiency) and the signal cross-talk in CT detector system. The pixel pitch was 1-mm and the detector thickness was 2-mm in the simulation. The optimized pixel size and inter-pixel distance for maximizing the CIE and minimizing the signal cross-talk is about 750 μm and 125 μm, respectively

AbstractAbstract
[en] At the time of the pelvis cancer radiation treatment using the belly board, set-up error is large because of a prone position. In order to improve the reproducibility, we made Vac-lock type belly board. In this study, we attempt to validate its utility. We compared belly board and Vac-lock type belly board through the OBI. OBI was performed three times with entire course of treatment and the setup errors in the direction of X axis, Y axis, Z axis were recorded and calculated the distance from the isocenter. X axis, Y axis, Z axis setup errors with existing belly board were 0.32 cm, 0.41 cm, 0.29 cm. The setup errors with the vac-lock type belly board were 0.12 cm, 0.19 cm, 0.17 cm. Further, errors of 0-0.29 cm were increased from 48% to 83 when using VLT belly board. Error of 0.5 cm or more was reduced from 21% to 2%. Vac-lock type belly board is able to maintain the efficacy of existing and create to match the characteristics of the patient. Therefore We think that vac-lock type belly board is very useful in pelvic cancer patients

AbstractAbstract
[en] Positron Emission Tomography(PET) is nuclear medical tests which is a combination of several compounds with a radioactive isotope that can be injected into body to quantitatively measure the metabolic rate (in the body). Especially, Phenomena that increase (sing) glucose metabolism in cancer tissue using the 18F-FDG (Fluorodeoxyglucose) is utilized widely in cancer diagnosis. And then, Numerous studies have been reported that incidence seems high availability even in the modern diagnosis of dementia and Parkinson's (disease) in brain disease. When using a dynamic PET image including the time information in the static information that is provided for the diagnosis many can increase the accuracy of diagnosis. For this reason, clinical researchers getting great attention but, it is the lack of tools to conduct research. And, it interfered complex mathematical algorithm and programming skills for activation of research. In this study, in order to easy to use and enable research dPET, we developed the software based graphic user interface(GUI). In the future, by many clinical researcher using DIA-Tool is expected to be of great help to dPET research

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this study, standard model of medical radiation dosage quality control system will be suggested and the useful of this system in clinical field will be reviewed. Radiation dosage information of modalities are gathered from digital imaging and communications in medicine(DICOM) standard data(such as DICOM dose SR and DICOM header) and stored in database. One CT scan, two digital radiography modalities and two mammography modalities in one health promotion center in Seoul are used to derive clinical data for one month. After 1 months research with 703 CT scans, the study shows CT 357.9 mGy·cm in abdomen and pelvic CT, 572.4 mGy·cm in brain without CT, 55.9 mGy·cm in calcium score/heart CT, screening CT at 54 mGy·cm in chest screening CT(low dose screening CT scan), 284.99 mGy·cm in C-spine CT and 341.85 mGy·cm in L-spine CT as health promotion center reference level of each exam. And with 1955 digital radiography cases, it shows 274.0 mGy·cm"2 and for mammography 6.09 mGy is shown based on 536 cases. The use of medical radiation shall comply with the principles of justification and optimization. This quality management of medical radiation exposure must be performed in order to follow the principle. And the procedure to reduce the radiation exposure of patients and staff can be achieved through this. The results of this study can be applied as a useful tool to perform the quality control of medical radiation exposure

AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper presents an interpolation technique of two given robust stabilizing gains for input constrained uncertain systems. The proposed interpolated feedback gain is computed at every sampling instance by solving an optimization problem with a single decision variable. Use of the interpolated feedback gain can bring about not only large invariant set but also good control performance. Moreover, it is shown that the feasible and invariant set yielded by the proposed control is the convex hull of the two invariant sets by the known controls. The simulation results show that the proposed interpolation based feedback gain indeed results in both large invariant set and good control performance.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The aim of this article is to elucidate the influence of reduction ratio during roll bonding on the microstructural evolution, mechanical properties and room-temperature formability of Al-Cu 2-ply clad metal. The evolution of the interface microstructure was first characterized by a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) attached with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The presence of an intermetallic compound as well as severe grain refinement was detected at the interface of the Al-Cu bimetal fabricated under the highest reduction ratio of 65% adopted in this study. Taking into account the difference of the microstructure with a reduction the ratio, mechanical properties and bonding strength were then evaluated by uniaxial tensile and peel tests. It was observed that the bonding strength, elongation and tensile strength for Al-Cu 2-ply sheets were incomparably reduced by decreasing the reduction ratio during the roll bonding process, which directly correlated with the microstructural evolution at the interface. Moreover, the higher reduction ratio during the roll bonding, the more room temperature formability could be achieved for Al-Cu 2-ply sheet by applying both three-point bending and Erichsen tests.

AbstractAbstract
[en] IEC publications have applied in many countries all over the world such as Europe or Japan and these also have been published as industrial standards (KS) and notifications of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) in Korea. As the general standard of IEC 60601 series for medical electric (ME) equipment was revised as 3rd edition in 2005, additional and particular standards have been revised or established newly. Under these circumstances, it is importance for manufacturing and assembling companies or authorized testing companies to understand the trend for revisions of IEC publications. Therefore in this study, the latest version of 3 IEC standards related to medical X-ray equipment : IEC 60601-2-44 for X-ray equipment for computed tomography (CT), IEC 60601-2-45 for mammographic X-ray equipment and IEC 60601-2-54 for X-ray equipment for radiography or radioscopy were covered and analyzed for trends and features accompanied by revision based on IEC 60601-1 3rd Ed. As KFDA notifications in force have referred to the particular standards based on 2nd edition of IEC 60601-1, those revised version of 3 particular standards were compared to KFDA notifications in force. The features of the latest standards applying IEC 60601-1 3rd Ed were shown as following: 1) Requirements for mechanical hazards, especially (motorized) moving parts were emphasized. 2) Indication and recording of patient dose were required. 3) Risk management process was introduced and enabled to monitor potential risks systematically. 4) DR system (digital radiography system) as well as analogue system (film-screen system) was included in the scope. Presently, KFDA will revise the notifications applying the particular standards based on IEC 60601-1 3rd Ed in a few years. Therefore the features of particular standards applying IEC 60601-1 3rd Ed was expected to help manufacturers, assemblers or testing companies of medical electric equipment understand IEC publications or KFDA notifications slated to be published
