AbstractAbstract
[en] The spectrum of the luminous aureole near the calcium target radiated by excited particles ejected from its surface by a beam of Ar+ (energy 30 keV, current density 200 μA/cm2) was investigated. This spectrum contains lines of the singlet and triplet systems of the one-and-two-electron excited states of the calcium atom and some bands of CaO and O+2 molecules. The width of a conductivity band of CaO was measured. Some information on oxidation processes on calcium in a residual gas and rarefied nitrogen atmosphere was obtained. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The radiation emitted by particles ejected by inert gas ions from the surface of 25 solid targets was investigated. It was shown that continuum radiation was emitted by particles ejected from targets of transition elements with unfilled nd-shells. For all these targets intensity distribution in the continuous spectrum was nearly the same. The hypothesis was proposed that the observed continuum radiation is emitted by ejected atoms in the state of collective excitation. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The angular distribution of scattered excited hydrogen atoms resulted from neutralization of H2+ ions with 20 keV energy incident on the tantal surface is studied by means of the ion-photon spectroscopy method. Energies of neutral excited particles are estimated, and correlation between these energies and scattering angles is observed. The process of H2+ ion scattering by the tantal surface is simulated using TRIM95 program and changes in the angular distribution with the scattered particles energy are found. The discussion of simulation results in comparison with experimental data is presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] Distributions along the normal to the target surface of a continuous spectrum intensity radiated by particles ejected by argon ions (30 keV energy, 200 μAxcm-2 current density) from the surface of some transition (Mo, W, Ti, Nb) and rear earth (Sm, Ho, Lu) metals as well as chemical compounds of some investigated metals (MoS2, TiO2 and LiNbO3) are studied. The continauous spectrum and some lines emitted by the excited atoms and ions of the metal or beam take place in the obtained spectra

AbstractAbstract
[en] Study on radiation spectral composition and spatial distribution under bombarding beryllium by Ar+ and H2+ (20 keV) ions is carried out. The quantum yield and rate composition of sputtered and scattered excited particles are measured. Analysis of the obtained results from the viewpoint of impact of non-radiating resonance processes on the probability of maintaining the excitation by the particles take-off from the beryllium surface is performed. The passivating role of nitrogen through bombarding the beryllium surface by Ar+ ions in the nitrogen atmosphere is shown

AbstractAbstract
[en] Optical emission under bombardment of the NaCl, NaI, CsCl, and CsI crystals by Ar+ ions with an energy of 25 keV was studied, and the emission quantum yield of the sputtered alkaline-metal atoms is found to be higher for chlorides than for iodides. At the same time, the crystal luminescence reveals an inverse dependence. The assumption is made that population of the excited states of sputtered atoms is caused by electrons localized at the defect levels in the forbidden band. Studies of the energy distribution of the sputtered excited particles revealed the existence of a group of slow atoms emitting upon transitions from the highly-excited states. This fact testifies to the absence of substantial metallization of the surface under ionic bombardment of alkali-halide crystals. 20 refs., 3 figs., 1 tab

AbstractAbstract
[en] The continuous emission spectra due to particles ejected by He+, Ne+ and Ar+ ions from 42 different metallic targets are investigated. It is found that a continuous spestrum is emitted only by particles ejected from such targets whose atoms possess an unfilled nd-shell (transition metals) or an unfilled 4f-shell (rare earth metals). The intensity distribution in the continuous spectrum due to particles ejected from transition metal targets is almost independent of the nature of the metal. In the rare earth metals there is a regular variation of the distribution on the filling up of the 4f-shell of metal atoms. An analysis of the results of thhe present investigation and those found in the literature lead to the conclusion that in some cases (Mo) various parts of the continuous spectrum are emitted by various types of particles. In general the continuous spectrum may be emitted either by atoms of the target excited to a collective level or by excited clusters of metal atoms

AbstractAbstract
[en] Luminescence spectra in a visible and near ultraviolet range emitted by the particles ejected by the ion beam from the target are considered. These particles appear in the result of two processes: cathode sputtering and binary collisions of the beam ions with the surface particles of the target. Comparison of electron energy spectra in metallic calcium and CaO crystal with energy levels of an isolated calcium atom is conducted. Explanation of the experiments is carried out within the frames of the island model
