AbstractAbstract
[en] The current results presented on the new particle production are the anti Λ → nπ giving striking confirmation of theoretical predictions of charmed baryon structure and the famous ΔS = -ΔQ event. Also the D0's are photoproduced from nuclear targets and decay to K/sub S/4π. An upper limit is set on the branching ratio. Lastly a broad six-pion resonance was observed. It is inferred that this observation was the six-pion decay of a vector meson of roughly three times the rho meson mass

[en] The properties and principles of the data acquisition and track processing of Fermilab E690 and BNL766 are outlined. A simple example is presented, and followed by speculations about the future at LHC and SSC experiments. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Λ0 polarization from pp → pdiffractedΛ0K+at 800 GeV/c in the average depends linearly on Λ0K+ invariant mass: Λ0 polarization is 0.635 ± 0.036 at 1.64 GeV, consistent with zero at ∼ 2.195 GeV, and -0.586 ± 0.072 at 3.200 GeV. The origin of this Λ0 polarization is, probably, the interference of at least two Λ0K+ resonances, created from the excitation of the target proton, due to the diffracted proton transferred momentum

AbstractAbstract
[en] Using pp→p+ all charged particles at 800 GeV/c and 27.5 GeV/c incident protons at Fermilah and Brookhaven, respectively, the mass of the Σ0 hyperon has been measured with an uncertainty of 7 times smaller than the best previous result. This result, MΣ0=1192.65±0.020±0.014 MeV/c2 is based on 16 times the statistics of previous results. copyright 1998 American Institute of Physics

AbstractAbstract
[en] We report on a search for the photoproduction of D0 (D-bar0) mesons in events which have zero total visible strangeness. We observe an enhancement of 94 +- 19 events in the K+-π-+ decay mode, corresponding to a cross section of approx. 720 nb assuming a branching ratio of 0.018

AbstractAbstract
[en] Photoproduction of the D*+ have been observed where the D*+ decays via D*+ → π+D0 and the D0 decays via K-π+ and K/sub s/π+π-. The D*+, D0 mass difference and the D0 mass observed here are in excellent agreement with previous measurements of charmed mesons produced in e+e- annihilations. The photoproduced D*+ and D*- signals are produced nearly equally at the level of about 100 nb/nucleon

AbstractAbstract
[en] This article describes the fiber-optic-based calibration system installed at the High Resolution Fly's Eye (HiRes) astro-particle physics observatory. The HiRes detectors measure ultra violet scintillation light from distant extensive air showers. This automated calibration system delivers light from a frequency tripled 355 nm YAG laser to the 10,752 photo-multiplier tubes of the 42 HiRes-II detectors

AbstractAbstract
[en] Photoproduction of the charmed baryon L/sub c/ is reported. Clear signals are observed in the pK/sub S//sup ts0/ and p-barK/sub S//sup ts0/ decay modes. The observed mass is 2284 +- 5 MeV, with a cross section times branching ratio of 3 nb/nucleon
