AbstractAbstract
[en] A Coulomb excitation campaign on 106,108,110Sn at 4.4-4.5 MeV/u was launched at the HIE-ISOLDE facility at CERN. Larger excitation cross sections and γ-ray statistics were achieved compared to previous experiments at ∼2.8 MeV/u. More precise B(E2;01+ → 21+) values, lifetimes of states via the Doppler shift attenuation method, and new B(E2;01+ → 2x+), B(E2;21+ → 41+), and Q(21+) values from the new Miniball data will be obtained and applied to test modern nuclear structure theories. AbstractAbstract
[en] New approach is described to synthesis of biomimetic materials on the basis of hydroxyapatite particles and collagen suspension produced from fish-production wastes. A simultaneous joint in vitro precipitation yields partly mineralized collagen fibrils. The process is similar to the mineralization stage in the case of an in vivo formation of bone tissue. The method for synthesizing a collagen-hydroxyapatite biomimetic composite material can serve as a basis for obtaining materials for the regenerative medicine.

[en] The standard enthalpies of formation of anhydrous 3d-block transition metal uranyl sulfates and their pentahydrates at 298.15 K were determined by reaction calorimetry. The heat capacities of the compounds AIIUO2(SO4)2·5H2O (AII = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) and CuUO2(SO4)2 at 7-300 K were determined by adiabatic vacuum calorimetry, and the thermodynamic functions of these compounds were calculated. The standard entropies and Gibbs energies of formation of these compounds at 298.15 K were determined. The thermodynamics of dehydration of AIIUO2(SO4)2·5H2O and of the precipitate-solution equilibria involving these compounds were studied

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Institute of Nuclear Physics in Almaty is elaborating program the aim of which is developing of technology and production of the most important for Kazakhstan radionuclides, radioactive sealed sources and radiopharmaceuticals for used in medicine, industry and in radioecological research in Kazakhstan. Solid and powder targets are irradiated with protons up to 30 MeV and alphas up to 50 MeV using positive ions variable energy isochronous cyclotron. Traditional wet chemistry procedures to extract and purify produced radioisotopes are used. Regular production of Tl-201, Ga-67, Co-57, Cd-109, Pu-237, Y-88, Sr-85 has already started. It is expected to expand the production of radionuclides as to include Fe-55, In-111. I-123, Rd-103 and some other radionuclides

AbstractAbstract
[en] The permittivity components of the liquid crystalline gadolinium complex with Lewis bases and β-diketonates as ligands are measured in the frequency range from 100 Hz to 5 MHz. The magnitude and sign of the dielectric anisotropy of the complex are determined. Two dispersion regions of the permittivities are found in the liquid crystalline phase. The mechanisms responsible for the relaxation phenomena occurring in the sample are established. The dielectric relaxation times, activation energies, and dipole moment of the complex are obtained. The results of the study are compared with the dielectric properties of ytterbium and terbium complexes having the same ligand environment.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The objectives of the present work are to increase thermal stability of cyclotron targets for production of Tl-201 isotope, increase Tl-203 regeneration rate at radiochemical reprocessing of the targets and develop production technology for radiochemical sources based on Rd-103 isotope. Electrochemical coating of copper substrate with Tl increased the beam current at target irradiation from 100 μA to 125 μA. Further increase of the beam current results in sharp decrease of target stability time at irradiation to 15 min at beam current 150 μA. Thermal calculations and tests at the electron-beam stand predict satisfactory stability at such currents. The discrepancy with the irradiation results has not been explained. More accurate specification of regimes for Tl-203 electrochemical recovery from irradiated targets and better matching of the electrolyte composition made it possible to increase the recovery rate up to 99.5%. Before the present Project, the INP had no experience in production of radioactive sources based on Pd-103. Thermo-diffusion extraction of Pd-103 from irradiated rhodium foil has been chosen as a technology-defining method. The process assures good extraction rate and high purity of extracted isotope. Production of Pd-103 sources based on this technology is much simpler compared to the same based on electrochemical processes. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Cyclotrons play an important role for production of 'carrier-free' radioisotopes for various applications in the nuclear medicine, industry, ecology and science. Kazakhstan variable energy isochronous cyclotron, K = 50 MeV, is a 150 cm compact-pole 3 sector positive ion machine. It generates different beams of light ions: protons 6-30 MeV, deuterons 12.5-25 MeV, 3He-ions 18.5-62 MeV, alpha-particles 25-50 MeV. In the last years the cyclotron is rather intensively used for radioisotopes production to meet the needs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main users of radioisotope products are the Institutions of Healthcare Ministry and enterprises of oil-chemistry, metallurgy, mining, scientific institutes etc. In this submission a survey on radionuclides production including 201Tl, 67Ga, 57Co, 109Cd, 88Y, 85Sr is presented. Practically at all production stages (target preparation, extraction, purification and concentration of a product) original approaches were realized: (1) at target production by means of electrolysis the modes of reverse plating of the material for irradiation and technological layers were finalized, and at 67Ga production new extraction with better characteristics were used; that made the deeper purification from zinc, copper and iron possible. At the development of the technologies of the sealed sources production the following results were obtained: (1) 109Cd production for X-ray fluorescence analysis, and production of experimental samples for Moessbauer sources 57Co at rhodium and palladium backings. The tracers 237Pu, 88Y and 85Sr used for development of the set of methods for 239Pu, 240Pu, 90Sr and 241Am determination in the samples from Semipalatinsk Test Site were produced via nuclear reactions with alpha-particles on 235U and protons on 88Sr, 85Rb targets. Produced radiopharmaceutical preparations 201Tl chloride and 67Ga citrate are supplied to medical centers of Almaty. (author)
