[en] Experience on computer controlled correction of proton beam direction at the IHEP neutrino beam channel has been described. Proof for choosing the correction layout is presented. Information on control program is given and results on program operation are presented. Velocity of correction convergence depending on the fact, which magnets and coordinate delta-chambers take part in the correction, and on the degree of the channel optics misaling has been under study

[en] Different methods of the trigger organization for the liquid argon neutrino detector of the Tagged Neutrino Facility are discussed and the construction of the fast scintillating trigger using polymethylmethacrylate as the base of the scintillator is proposed. As a result of experimental investigations photomultiplier PM-84-3 with a standard devider was choosen. Characteristics for the scintillator and the wavelength shifter, which are required for creating a highly efficient (90%) fast <=5 ns trigger suitable for a liquid argon under increased pressure (P<=3 atm) were defined. 10 refs.; 6 figs.; 1 tab

[en] The further results on direct muon production in the proton-nuclear interactions on an iron target at 70 GeV are presented. Muon to pion ratio was found to be independent of the transverse muon momentum Psub(T) at fixed longitudinal muon momentum Psub(L)> 7 GeV/c within 15 percent. At the Feynman variable Xsub(F) approximately equal to 0 and Psub(T) approximately equal to 1 GeV/c (μ+ + μ-)/2π+ ratio is equal to (7.0 +-1.1)x10-5, thus indicating constant μ/π value over the Psub(T) range from about 1 to 3 anti GeV/c. Total direct muon yield in the center of mass forward hemisphere is equal to (3.6 +- 0.5)x 10 -4 per interacting proton

[en] Direct muon yields measured in pFe-collisions at 70 GeV are compared with the expected contribution from the dimuon production. This contribution is shown to be equal to (82+-4+-12)% on the average for the xsub(F) region of 0.09 < or approximately xsub(F) < or approximately 0.6 (where xsub(F) is the Feynman variable). Model-dependent limits on charm particle production cross section are obtained

[en] A sonic signal, produced in a steel rod irradiated by a pulsed muon beam, has been studied. Its agreement with the predictions of the thermo acoustic mechanism of generation in the geometric approximation of linear cylindric antenna has been shown. The expected sonic signals from the neutrino beam of multi TeV machines have been estimated with the view to define possibilities to use them in geophysics to forecast earthquakes. 11 refs.; 6 figs.; 2 tabs

[en] Methods and results of absolute calibration of ionization chambers using nuclear emulsions are described. The absolute calibration consists in determination of the coefficient, which relates the chamber signal with a number (or flux density) of particles passing through it. The sensitivity of the reference chamber is measured with 3% accuracy and is equal to (2.22+-0.07)x106 muons/cm2xV. It is shown that the dependence of the calibration coefficient on the depth and radial chamber position in a filter has not been revealed within the errors of every definite measurement (+-4%). The results of several calibration exposures during three years (1979-1981) are described by a straight line. The experiments carried out have just shown independently on proton beam intensity monitor a direct proportionality of ionizaiton chamber signals to muon flux density and the absence of any direct component, which might cause a systematic error during muon flux measurement

[en] The modern data on the technique of uranium underground leaching from ore bodies in-situ are presented. The general geological and hydrogeological conditions for organization of uranium underground leaching (UL) are pointed out. Uranium deposits where UL is applied are classified. The types of uranium deposits with the natural pore-crack permeability, crack permeability with stratum-like and stockwork ore bodies are considered in detail. Hydrogeologic conditions in the process of uranium leaching during of well development of ores with natural permeability are discussed

The software permitted: to obtain mean and integral values of radiation levels along the neutrino channel in a given period of time and a definite number of accelerator operation cycles; to carry out the estimation of the radiation situation along the neutrino channel on the solitary output of a beam into a channel; to obtain the results of data processing on a linear printing along with proton beam parameters averaged in this period of time. [en] This paper presents the organization of the Scintillation Trigger System (STS) for the Liquid Argon Neutrino Detector of the Tagged Neutrino Facility. STS is aimed at the effective registration of the needed neutrino interaction type and production of a fast trigger signal with high time resolution. The fast analysis system of analog signal from the trigger scintillation planes for rejection of the trigger signals from background processes is described.
