AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect is studied of the film thickness, substrate temperature, and rate of condensation on the electrophysical and superconducting properties and structure of vanadium films condensed in vacuum of (2-3)x10-6 mm Hg. It is shown that the substrate temperature in the course of condensation and the film thickness exert the determining influence on the structure and properties of vanadium films. Vanadium condensates with properties similar to those of a massive material can be obtained at a substrate temperature of 1000-1123 K and a film thickness exceeding 0.5 μ. The critical tempere of transition of such films to the supercon--ducting state is 5.3+-0.05 K, the transition width being 0.02-0.03 K. Taking advantage of the Fux theory, the free path length is determined of electrons in vanadium films at 6 K, which is equal to about 0.07 μ for layer thickness of 1-2 μ

AbstractAbstract
[en] Conditions of epitaxial growth of vacuum condensates of bcc-lattice high-melting metals V, Ta, Mo, W, Nb on (1010), (1020), (0001) sapphire faces were determined. Temperature ranges in which origination, growth and epitaxial textures existend in films as well as conditions required for the formation of sufficiently perfect epitaxial films were determined

AbstractAbstract
[en] The results are presented of an integrated X-ray-diffractometric and electronographic investigation into the effect of the substrate temperature, film thickness, and rate of condensation on the structure of molybdenum films condensed onto the surface of sapphire oriented with the plane (30.0). The molybdenum films have been obtained in a vacuum of (2-3)x10-6 mm Hg by electron-beam heating of the initial material. It is noted that the substrate temperature in the course of condensation, and the film thickness exert the principal effect on the structure of Mo films. Sufficiently perfect epitaxial films of Mo of thickness d(>=)1 μ with orientation (211)long (30.0) α-Al2O3 may be obtained in the substrate temperature range of 1173-1223 K

AbstractAbstract
[en] The dc SQUID had been presented for use in the rf SQUID instead of a weak link. The new device, referred to as double SQUID, possesses a large output signal (hundreds of microvolts) in operating in a hysteretic mode. For making an operating mode a double SQUID is coupled to a circuit traditional for rf SQUIDs containing a tank circuit and an rf current pumping generator. The magnetic flux being measured is recognized by the dc height of the flat part of the tank circuit I-V characteristics coupled to a double SQUID is modulated. It is this modulation that is the SQUID output signal. The experimental investigations of the double SQUID showed the validity of the assumptions under consideration. Output signals up to 690 μV, noise spectral density ∼ 2 x 10-5 φ0/Hz1/2 (φ0 is the flux quantum) and energy resolution ∼ 1.4 x 10-29/Hz have been obtained

AbstractAbstract
[en] The magnetic and transport properties of a 20-nm-scale twinned La0.65Ca0.35MnO3 film have been investigated in a temperature range of 77-300 K. The coexistence of ferromagnetic metallic (FM) and charge-ordered insulating (COI) phases is suggested based on analysis of resistance temperature and current dependencies at low temperatures. It is shown that thermocycling leads to formation of a non-equilibrium state in the ensemble of the charge-ordered domains and to appearance of a giant (up to 100%) resistance switching between MF and COI states. The experimental results are discussed from the viewpoint of the phase separation phenomenon
