AbstractAbstract
[en] It has been shown that the regime of logarithmic growth of the mean multiplicity of charged particles, which is valid in the region of high energies, breaks down in the low-energy region, because the contributions from the preasymptotic terms turn out to be significant. The incorporation of these terms leads to the redetermination of the coefficient multiplying lnS. The value of this coefficient obtained from a fit to the experimental results including all the preasymptotic terms turns out to be considerably higher than that determined from the conventional logarithmic fit and is consistent with the results obtained earlier. It has been shown that the possible allowance for the mechanism of rapid increase in total cross sections does not alter the logarithmic behaviour of < n3> up to sufficiently high energies, due to a great reduction in the asymptotic terms. The asymptotic behaviour of < n3> approximately lnsup(ν+1)-S (at sigma sub(tot) approximately lnsup(ν) s) will be observed only at much higher energies than those attained with ISR

AbstractAbstract
[en] It is shown that the logarithmical increase of the mean multiplicity of charged particles observed in the high-energy range is absent at low energy because pre-acymptotic terms turn to be essential. Consideration of these terms leads to the redefinition of the coefficient at In s. The value of this coefficient obtained by the fitting procedure taking into account all pre-asymptotic terms appears to exceed significantly the value yielded by the usual fitting. It is shown that consideration of the mechanism of the fast growth of the total cross sections does not effect the logarithmical behaviour of (nsub(ch)) up to sufficiently high energies beacause of the strong decrease of the logarithmical terms. The asymptotic behaviour (nsub(ch)) approximately Insup(v+1)s (for sigma sub(tot) approximately Insup(v)s) will be observed only at significantly higher energies than those reached by ISR

AbstractAbstract
[en] We present results on the experimental study of inelastic charged-current antineutrino-nucleon scattering in the energy range of 10-200 GeV. The data sample, consisting of about 6500 antineutrino-induced events, was obtained in the Fermilab 15 ft bubble chamber filled with a heavy neon-hydrogen mixture. The differential cross section for νsub(μ)N interactions are presented in terms of scaling variables x and y. The structure functions Fsup(ν)2 and xFsup(ν)3 have been evaluated as functions of x and E-sub(ν). A deviation from the scaling hypothesis, similar to those found in other experiments on inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering, has been observed. The data are interpreted in the framework of the quark-parton model. Quark and antiquark distributions and their energy dependences are presented. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The first observation of μ+e+ events produced in antineutrino interactions using the Fermilab 15 ft bubble chamber is reported. The relative yield of μ+e+ events is (4.8+5.3sub(-)3.2) x 10-4 of all charged-current events with antineutrino energy greater than 10 GeV. The observed V0 rate is 1.0+1.2sub(-)1.2 per μ+e+ event. Possible sources of these events are discussed. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We have used the ratio between the production rates of K0's and π-'s in antineutrino-nucleon interactions in the Fermilab 15 ft bubble chamber to measure the size of the SU(3) symmetry violation in the production of quark-antiquark pairs to be 0.27 +- 0.04. This value is significantly larger than the value obtained from a recent ep experiment. There is no apparent dependence of the K0/π- ratio with W2, Q2, xsub(b) or p2sub(T). (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of a study of strange particle production in charged current anti μsub(μ)N interactions in the Fermilab 15 ft bubble chamber filled with a heavy Ne-H2 mixture are presented. Production rates and average multiplicities of K0sup(,)s and Λ's as functions of W2 and Q2 are given. The experimental data agree well with the quark-parton model predictions if a yield of 0.06 +- 0.02 of K0sup(,)s and Λ's from charm production is included. Upper limits for D-meson production are given and the shape of the charmed quark fragmentation function is discussed. Inclusive production of the Ksup(*)(890) and Σ(1385) resonances is measured and it is shown that only about 5% of the K0 mesons and Λ hyperons results from resonance decays. Relative production rates of neutral strange particles on proton and neutron targets are studied. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We have studied transverse momenta of charged hadrons in the current fragmentation region of charged current antineutrino-nucleon interactions observed in the Fermilab 15 ft bubble chamber. The measured momentum squared transverse to the anti νμ+ plane (p2(out)) of the negative hadrons varies as a function of Q2, W2 and x as expected from the leading order perturbative QCD calculations. Positively charged hadrons show a different transverse momentum behaviour as a function of Q2. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] It is shown from the analysis of effective mass spectra that rho0(765) and K*(892) meson resonances are produced with a large cross section in pp collisions at 69GeV/c. The values of these cross sections and the inclusive d(sigma)/dy distribution are given. The results obtained are compared with the similar data at other energies

[en] The two-stage decay Dsup(*-)->anti D0π, anti D0->K+π-X of the Dsup(*-) mesons produced by antineutrinos in the 15 ft bubble chamber is studied. For an antineutrino energy above 10 GeV the rate of Dsup(*-) production relative to all charged current events is found to be 0.042+-0.013. (orig.)
