AbstractAbstract
[en] Electron source of a pulse magnecon - a new SHF-generator with beam circular scanning, designed for storage ring accelerated system power supply is described. Flowsheets of the 30 cm operating magnecon and its electron sources are presented. Peculiarities of the source design, calculations of electron gun and beam dynamics are considered. results of experimental study of the electron source are given. Thorough adjustment and good optics of the beam permitted to attain high parameters of the magnecon. The electron source ensures beam current of 12 A at the energy of 30 keV

[en] The purpose of this lecture is to review the definitions of the main parameters that describe accelerating structures in general and standing-wave structures in particular. The lecture also contains some deductions from the classical standing-wave structure theory. Specific examples of structures developed at various accelerator centers illustrate the widespread feasibility of their application in accelerator physics. (author)

[en] The description and test results of a cm-wave range power pulse microwave source-magnicon-frequency doubler designed for an electron gun of a linear collider are presented. In the given scheme of the magnicon the gap which is free from guiding magnetic field between the output resonator and the scanner is absent. [en] This paper presents a progress in the program of developing and researching of the high power pulsed 7 GHz magnicon - an amplifier operating in frequency-doubled mode. The tube design chosen by the numerical simulation and previous device versions investigations, the problems faced and overcome during testing as well as the latest experimental results in which a power of 30 MW, efficiency of 35 % and pulse width of 0.7 μs have been obtained at operating frequency of 7 GHz are described in the paper. [en] A new microwave (3-10 cm) generator with circular deflecting of the electron beam, the extension of the gyrocon proposed by G.I. Budker in 1967, is described. The magnetic accompaniment and long interaction enable a higher power to be achieved in the decimetre and centimetre wave range, in comparison with that of the gyrocon and the klystron. The high power and efficiency, the possibility of regulating the output power of the device, as well as the high gain make it possible to effectively employ the magnicon for RF supply of accelerators and storage rings

AbstractAbstract
[en] The magnicon is a microwave amplifier in which the beam is modulated by means of its circular deflection. Presented in this reports is a frequency doubling amplifier developed as a prototype of the microwave energy source for linear colliders. The magnicon is driven by a beam with a power of up to 100 MW and a microperveance of 0.83, the source of which is a thermionic electron gun with a very high convergence (up to 2000:1 in area). During the investigation the following results were obtained: a power of 30 MW, an efficiency of 35%, and a gain of 55 dB. This paper presents the tube design, problems faced and overcome during the investigation, and possible methods of further improving the device
