AbstractAbstract
[en] Several of the North Sea oil fields produce depositions (scale) on the inside of production equipment with enhanced concentrations of natural radioactivity. This may cause internal and external exposures to personnel working with contaminated equipment. This phenomena has also resulted in storage- and classification problems of the low radioactive waste. 40 refs., 33 figs., 20 tabs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Deposits of naturally occurring radioactive materials is an increasing problem in Norwegian oil and gas production. Activity concentration in solid-state samples and production water, and doses to workers involved in different operations off-shore, have been measured. The report also includes a discussion of different methods of monitoring and alternatives for final disposal of wastes. 154 refs
