AbstractAbstract
[en] Correlation diagrams of the surface of potential energies of different electron states are plotted for atom-molecule collisions in a partially dissociated air. Mechanism of electronically excited particle quenching are studied. The results allow to explain and predict the products of electronically excited particle quenching reaction and to estimate the rates of little-studied reactions

AbstractAbstract
[en] Methods of atomic oxygen beam production and designs of oxygen atom sources have been described. Characteristics of the beams (dissociation degree of oxygen molecules in the beam; atom flux intensity; energy of oxygen atoms in the beam) obtained by means of the sources of different types are given. Much attention is given to the methods of the fast (1-5 eV) intensive atomic oxygen beams production which are used as means for studing the interaction dynamics of chemically active oxygen atoms with surfaces of solids

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the work are reviewed methods of generation of molecular beams. Traditional effusive and gasodynamical sources of molecular beams are examined in detail, there is given their comparative analysis. Methods to obtain high-energy beams (>1 eV) intensively developing now are discussed in detail. A special attention is drawn to fast molecular beams containing atomic oxygen and applied for the study of physo-chemical processes on the solid surface

AbstractAbstract
[en] Chemical reactions with oxygen atoms are crucial in high-temperature combustion and in the chemistry of the upper atmosphere. The authors review the generation of atomic oxygen beams, designs of oxygen atom sources, and list the parameters of beams generated by various sources (the degree of dissociation of the oxygen molecules in the beam, atomic beam intensity, and energy of oxygen atoms in the beam). Special emphasis is placed on generating beams of fast (1-5 eV) oxygen atoms, which have been used extensively over recent years in studies of reactions between oxygen atoms and solid surfaces

AbstractAbstract
[en] The paper describes a pulsed-periodic molecular beam source based on electromagnetic shock tune with an end face skimmer. Utilization of oxygen as a working gas rises beam intensity up to 1018 cm-2s-1 at ∼50 μs pulse length and up to 5 Hz pulse repetition frequency. Particle velocity in the beam reaches 8 km/s. The source is promising in terms of investigations of fast atom interactions with surface

AbstractAbstract
[en] Electrical and optical characteristics of the dielectric-barrier discharge in the pressure range of 10-400 Torr were investigated experimentally, particular attention being paid to the discharge homogeneity and to the energy dissipation in the discharge volume. The discharge was driven by a high-voltage pulse generator producing nanosecond high-voltage pulses with an amplitude of 20-30 kV. Air, nitrogen, and helium were used as working gases. The discharge was found to be homogeneous within a wide range of gas pressure. A power density of up to 250 mW/cm3 has been achieved. (J.U.)
