AbstractAbstract
[en] Peculiarities of chemical transport of transition metal dichalcogenides, intercalated by rare earths during their growth from gaseous phase were analyzed. Dependence of partial pressure of gaseous phase components on the values of equilibrium constant was calculated under conditions, typical for crystal growth of mentioned dichalcogenides and intercalates. It is shown that such gas-transport systems are characterized by rather high values of common pressure, which is determined by iodine (transporting agent) pressure. Models, taking account of convective components of mass flow can be applied for describing mass transfer process in the given case. 3 refs.; 1 fig

AbstractAbstract
[en] The conditions of intercalation of the powders of diselenides of tungsten and molybdenum (the structural type 2H-MoS2) with hydrogen from the gas phase are studied. The intercalators HxWSe2 (0 < x <= 3.51), HxMoSe2 (0 < <= 2.08) are obtained. In the latter case the impurities of foreign phases are found. From the results of analysis of HxWSe2 it was found that there are atoms of tungsten with different coordinates in the structure which leads to possible penetration of hydrogen in great quantities into the defective positions of the crystalline lattice. The layered dichalcogenides of the transition metals with the structural type 2H-MoS2 represent new hydrogen-sorption materials which are the promising objects for fundamental and applied research. 7 refs.; 2 figs.; 3 tabs

[en] A thermographic study of Yb, Se and YbSe interaction with iodine has been made which is of interest to elucidate possibilities of crystallization by the method of chemical transport reactions using iodine as a transporting agent (the static version). Experiments have been conducted at 20-1000 deg C in vacuum of approximately 1,10-4 mm Hg. On the basis of data obtained the formation of a compound of Se with iodine in the gas phase under conditions of the experiments has been suggested. The onset of interaction between Yb and Se has been established (approximately 300 deg C), as well as of YbSe with iodine (approximately 160 deg C). Using data of the differential-thermal analysis, some recommendations on realization of the chemical transport in the system YbSe-I2 are proposed

[en] Stability of diselenides was studied by the dynamic method of flow. It is shown that molybdenum diselenide is more stable in argon medium, as compared with tungsten diselenide: partial pressure of selenium vapours equals 0.1 Pa at 1620 and 1310 K respectively. The process of selenium evaporation from tungsten diselenide is characterized by lower value of seeming activation energy
