AbstractAbstract
[en] The K+-nucleus cross sections have been calculated in relativistic non-linear models taking into account the in-medium modifications of nucleons and mesons properties. More precisely, we have taken into account both the dressing of the nucleon effective mass by the scalar nuclear field in the target and the coupling of the mesons exchanged between the K+ and the nucleons to the polarization of the medium. First, using the most recent relativistic non-linear models, the in-medium σ, ω and ρ meson masses have been obtained in the nuclear matter rest frame. The influence of the non-linear contributions on the K+-nucleus cross sections has then been studied. Finally, we have compared our results with the experimental data

AbstractAbstract
[en] The longitudinal response functions for quasielastic electron scattering on 12C, 40Ca and 56Fe have been calculated in relativistic non-linear models taking into account RPA correlations. For these calculations, a covariant, consistent, calculation of the nuclear matter linear response has been performed. The effect of the non-linear terms on the longitudinal response has been discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] Kaon-nucleon and antinucleon-nucleon interaction fundamental characteristics are presented. Then interaction of kaons and antiprotons with nuclei is studied: elastic scattering, excitation of collective state with natural and non-natural parity, and spin isospin component of the elementary interaction are reviewed

[en] Some attractive properties of the kaon interaction with nuclei are emphasized and their interest as probes of nuclear structure is shown. The multiple scattering mechanism K+ K- is analysed and the theoretical predictions are compared with the data obtained recently at Brookhaven

AbstractAbstract
[en] The K+-nucleon effective interaction in nuclear matter is derived using the Brueckner theory from a K+-nucleon potential built partly from the constituent quark model, partly in a phenomenological way. The influence of these conventional medium effects on the K+-nucleus optical potential and on the elastic differential cross-section at 800 MeV/c is analyzed. Density dependent variations of the effective nucleon size (swelling) are also introduced. These less conventional medium effects lead to important modifications of the K+-nucleus differential cross-section and improve significantly the agreement with the experimental data

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Landau parameters have been calculated in relativistic nonlinear models, on the one hand from the second derivative of the total energy density with respect to the quasinucleon distribution, on the other from the longitudinal dielectric function in relativistic RPA with and without the Pauli blocking terms in the polarization operators. The links between the Landau parameters and the collective modes obtained in the space-like region have been discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] The I=1 and I=0 kaon-nucleon s, p, d, f, g-waves phase shifts have been calculated in a nonrelativistic quark potential model using the resonating group method (RGM). The interquark potential includes gluon exchanges with a spin-orbit interaction. This force has been determined to reproduce as well as possible the meson and baryon spectra. The same force is employed for the cluster and intercluster dynamics and the relative KN wave-function is calculated without any approximation. While some channels are correctly described, the theory is still unable to explain others
