AbstractAbstract
[en] Representative examples of experimental techniques used for the identification and study of nuclei in the close vicinity of double shell-closures are presented. Perspectives for the discovery of new doubly magic nuclei very far from stability using fragmentation or fusion-evaporation reactions including reactions with radioactive secondary beams are discussed. AbstractAbstract
[en] A new version of the programme for kinematic simulation of heavy ion-induced reactions is written. This programme uses a combined standard-weighted Monte-Carlo method, and allows one to simulate both inclusive spectra and correlations between fission fragments, recoils and light particles. As a result, the angular, energy and mass distributions of reaction products in the lab. system are obtained. This programme enables one to check the theoretical model assumptions and to plan new experiments. This version of the programme is written for the PC XT/AT personal computers. 9 refs.; 2 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The analysis of elastic scattering of 7Li and 11Li is carried out in the framework of the optical model. The experimental data for 11Li are described by means of the usual optical potential. In the case of 11Li the better agreement with the experiment can be obtained only using an anomalously large value of surface diffuseness of the real part of the optical potential. 15 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The LISE code is intended to simulate medium-energy and high-energy fragment separators with electrostatic and/or magnetic selections. It is based on first-order optics and transport integral convolution techniques. Fragment separators such as LISE3, SISSI/LISE3 and SPEG at GANIL, FRS at GSI, COMBAS and ACCULINA at Dubna, A1200 and A1900 at NSCL, and RIPS at RIKEN are based on the separation of projectile-like fragments, and can be easily simulated via optical configuration files. The reaction mechanism assumed in this program is projectile fragmentation, suitable to simulate experiments at beam energies above 30 A MeV. However, built-in tools such as the physical calculator, nucleus database utilities, relativistic reaction kinematics calculations and beam optics transport calculations make it a very useful tool below this energy limit as well. The program can therefore be used for forecasting and tuning experiments using heavy-ion beams with energies ranging from 10 keV up to a few GeV per nucleon

AbstractAbstract
[en] A new isomer in the neutron-rich isotope 32Al has been identified among the fragmentation products of a 40Ar16+ beam using the LISE spectrometer at GANIL. The population of the isomeric state was inferred from the detection of γ-radiation following its decay in coincidence with its respective heavy-ion implantation signal. The half-life of 32mAl was determined to be 240 ± 30 ns. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A novel method for identification of short-lived isomers produced in heavy-ion induced reactions at several tens of MeV per nucleon and implanted at the final focus of the spectrometer is presented. Over forty known isomers have been observed at GANIL among the products of 58 and 63 AMeV 112Sn beams on a natNi target providing unambiguous confirmation of the ΔE-TKE-TOF based identification. Several new isomers were observed and studied in the reactions induced by 112Sn, 78Kr, 40Ar and 36S. Future applications of the method are discussed. (orig.)
