AbstractAbstract
[en] We report that a 5 nm thick Al2O3 film grown on Si(100) directly by sputtering exhibits strong (110) texture, accompanied by a shrunk lattice structure (Δd/d∼-2.36%). The disordered nature of the film was confirmed by cross-sectional high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, implying the loosened microstructure responsible for enhanced interdiffusion. The oxygen-deficient Al2+δO3-δ(δ>0) interdiffusion region with complex interfacial chemical valences was formed between the Al2O3 film and Si substrate, reducing the insulator properties. Using depth profiling in situ x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, we quantitatively reveal the non-stoichiometry deviation of the Al/O ratio at the interdiffusion region. A nominal thickness of 5 nm is required to obtain an actual barrier thickness of approximately 1 nm

AbstractAbstract
[en] The author reports a unique early-stage (the crystallized volume fraction ∼0.20) self-organized nanocrystalline stripe pattern phenomenon that nanoscale phase separation and nucleation simultaneously work together, representing a type that had never been previously observed in a metastable alloy solid. The first observation of mesoscopic self-organized crystallization showed that self-organization is not limited to the case of organic matter, thus potentially offering an insight into the mechanism of the nonequilibrium (nano)crystallization of metallic glasses

AbstractAbstract
[en] Based on dual-energy X-ray technology combined with forward-scattering, a brand new explosive detection method is presented. Dual-energy technology can give the information on the effective atomic number (Zeff) of an irradiated component, while the intensity of the forward scattered photons can reveal the density information according to our research. Therefore, the existence of the explosive can be effectively identified by combining these two characteristic quantities. Compared with the earlier inspection approaches, the new one has a series of particular advantages, such as high detection rate, low false alarm rate, automatic alarm and so forth. The project is ongoing. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] ZYNQ is the new architecture of FPGA with dual high performance ARM Cortex-A9 processors from Xilinx. A new module with Giga Bit Ethernet interface based on the ZYNQ XC7Z010 is development for the High Purity Germanium Detectors’ data acquisition in the CJPL (China JinPing under-ground Lab) experiment, which is named as RAIN1000Z1. Base on the nice RAIN1000Z1 hardware platform, EPICS is porting on the ARM CortexA9 processor with embedded Linux and an Input Output Controller is implemented on the RAIN1000Z1 module. Due to the combine of processor and logic and new silicon technology of ZYNQ, embedded Linux with TCP/IP sockets and real time high throughput logic based on VHDL are running in a single chip with small module hardware size, lower power and higher performance. We will introduce how to porting the EPICS IOC application on the ZYNQ based on embedded Linux and give a demo of IO control and RS232 communication. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] According to the environmental characteristics of nuclear power ships, a passive sampler with a volume ratio of ethylene glycol to tritium-free water of 1 : 1 is used to monitor the concentration of tritiated water in a closed nuclear power plant. After continuous monitoring for 1 month in different work places, it is found that the maximum relative deviation of the sampler was less than 10%; Sampler has been compared with the passive sampler with silica gel as the adsorption medium for 1 day comparison experiment, and the measurement error is less than 6%. Results show that the sampler can accurately measure the low concentration of HTO, which meets the monitoring requirements of HTO in closed nuclear power plants. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] EPICS is a set of software tools and it is used worldwide to develop distributed realtime control systems for scientific facilities such as particle accelerators, telescopes and other large scientific experiments. This paper explains the principles and methods of implementation of EPICS on RTEMS, and introduces an EPICS sample system with the front-end IOC based on RTEMS. The success of this sample system provides an experimental platform for research on EPICS, and provides a new operating system platform for IOC in EPICS system. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) project consists of a complex detector array with over 6000 detector nodes spreading over 1.2 km2 areas. The arrival times of shower particles are captured by time-to-digital converters (TDCs) in the detectors' frontend electronics, the arrival direction of the high energy cosmic ray are then to be reconstructed from the space-time information of all detector nodes. To guarantee the angular resolution of 0.5°, a time synchronization of 500 ps (RMS) accuracy and 100 ps precision must be achieved among all TDC nodes. A technology enhancing Gigabit Ethernet, called the White Rabbit (WR), has shown the capability of delivering sub-nanosecond accuracy and picoseconds precision of synchronization over the standard data packet transfer. In this paper we demonstrate a distributed TDC prototype system combining the FPGA based TDC and the WR technology. With the time synchronization and data transfer services from a compact WR node, separate FPGA-TDC nodes can be combined to provide uniform time measurement information for correlated events. The design detail and test performance will be described in the paper

AbstractAbstract
[en] The application of CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Devices) in the industrial CT system is discussed. The paper gives an architecture design and the realization of synchronized trigger module in the scan control sub-system; and also presents the circuit diagram and some result in detail. In the experimental CT system, it is well proved that the application of in-system programmable device supplies many advantages: the complexion of system and circuit is reduced; the process of debug and test is very simple; the system is flexible and the testing time is short. AbstractAbstract
[en] Thomson scattering X-ray source in Tsinghua University requires precise timing synchronization between photocathode RF gun's trigger laser and accelerator RF phase. This paper introduces ultrafast UV laser system design and development, photocathode RF gun's timing system design, and sub-picosecond synchronization diagnostic technique. Using high harmonic phase detector method, the measured rms time jitter between laser-RF phase is less than 200fs[1Hz, 100kHz]. (authors)
