AbstractAbstract
[en] The spin structure function g1p of the proton has been measured b deep inelastic scattering of polarized muons from polarized protons. The data were taken over the kinematic range 0.003 ≤ x Bj ≤ 0.7 and 1 GeV2 ≤ Q2 ≤ 60 GeV2. The first moment Γ1p = ∫01G1p(x)dx was evaluated and compared to the I Ellis-Jaffe sum rule. The consistency of existing proton deuteron and neutron data is discussed. Combination of the data allows a test the fundamental Bjorken sum rule which is confirmed at the level of 10% of its theoretical value, when high QCD corrections are considered. The contribution of the quark spins to the nucleon spin is evaluated within the quark-parton model

[en] Analysis of 180 MeV C+antiproton, Ca+antiproton, and Pb+antiproton elastic scattering data is presented. Fourier-Bessel potentials are constructed and are compared with the results of a folding model. Shortcomings of both of these optical model approaches are discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] Adiabatic collapse of iron nuclei with 1.5 and 1.7 Msun masses is investigated using the equation of state and electron capture rate in the Fermi-gas approximation, derived at the Illinois University. Reduction of lepton number in the collapse process leads to the fact that under quite different presupernova nucleus parameters the calculated mass of homologie nucleus is only about 1 Msun. Therefore the mass of the above lying layers through which the shock wave should pass, becomes quite high loosing the energy for dissociation, which hampers any sufficient mass and kinetic energy losses. 17 refs.; 8 figs.; 2 tabs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The (π+, π+p), (π-, π-p), and (π-, π-n) reactions on 16O and 18O were studied at 165 MeV by coincidence measurements of the outgoing particles. The cross sections for the (π-, π-n) reaction is larger on 18O than on 16O, whereas those for the (π+, π+p) and the (π-,π-p) reactions are smaller, most likely because of the coupling between the absorption and the scattering channels

AbstractAbstract
[en] The reaction 12C(π+,2p) was studied at 165 and 245 MeV over a broad kinematic range by coincidence measurement of the outgoing protons. The p-p angular correlations and proton energy spectra allow an identification of the ''quasideuteron'' component of the reaction. The angular distribution of this component has a shape similar to that of the π+d→pp reaction. It is found that one-step quasideuteron absorption accounts for at most 25% of the total absorption cross section

AbstractAbstract
[en] The transition charge densities to the lowest J/sup π/ = 2+,4+ states in /sup 204,206/Pb have been determined through inelastic electron scattering. Their shape is insensitive to the microscopic structure of these states, dominantly of neutron character, but it bears striking similarity to that of the low-frequency phonon of the core. This is regarded as strong evidence supporting the view that the ''dressing'' of these neutron excitations is mediated through core polarization with the lowest-frequency phonon acting as the most important doorway
