AbstractAbstract
[en] Objective: To evaluate the change of D2 receptors and its relationship with DA content in experimental hemi-parkinsonism rats before and after electron-acupuncture treatment. Methods: 125I-IBZM D2 receptor cerebral autoradiographic analysis, HPLC-ECD DA and its metabolites, homovanillic acid (HVA), 3,4-di-hydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC) content detection were used to study in striatum in before treatment, electro-acupuncture treatment and treatment control group. Results: 1) The DA, HVA and DOPAC level in striatum of lesioned side in electro-acupuncture group was increased comparing with the before treatment and treatment control group (P<0.05). 2) For the electro-acupuncture group, the striatum/cerebellum 125I-IBZM uptake ratio was 8.04 +- 0.71, (29.34 +- 4.83)% more than that of the contralateral side, but no significant difference was observed as compared with that of the pretreatment group [(8.09 +- 0.52), P>0.05]; however it was much lower than that of the treatment control group (8.61 +- 0.63), P<0.05, and the latter was (38.63 +- 3.71)% higher than that of the contralateral side, P<0.05. Conclusions: Electro-acupuncture treatment could increase the lesioned side striatum DA level to some extent, and can prevent D2 receptors' up regulation in rats with experimental hemi-parkinsonism

AbstractAbstract
[en] Strategies of current Thyroid Function Testing and Cost-Effect Analysis were reviewed. The sTSH IRMA is the keystone for confirmation and exclusion of thyroid dysfunction. The FT4 and FT3 RIA are useful assays. How to use the new strategies of thyroid function testing in China was also discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] Forty patients with Parkinson's disease were studied using 99mTc-HM-PAO brain perfusion SPECT. 62.5% (25 cases) showed abnormal blood perfusion. Among them 55% showed local decreased blood perfusion of cerebral cortex, 22% showed asymmetric decreased blood perfusion in basal gaglia, 10% showed decreased uptake of tracer in cerebellum. The pathophysiologic basis of the abnormality of brain blood perfusion were briefly discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] Here was reported the assay system using pig thyroid TSH receptor and 125I-bTSH purified by receptor of thyroid cell membrane for the study of TRAb activity. The binding rate of ASH soluble receptor with 125I-bTSH was 22.2 ∼ 37.4%, while as the control was only 1.0 ∼ 2.1%. TRAb was measured clinically in 48 cases of Grave's diseases and 25 normal persons. The TSH binding inhabitory index(TRII) was introduced for reflection of TRAb activity. The results showed that TBII was positure in 30 of 48 patients of Grave's diseases, the detctactibility was 79.2%

AbstractAbstract
[en] 125I-IBZM autoradiographic analysis, HPLC-ECD were used to study the relationship between D2 receptors and the content of DA, HVA, DOPAC in striatum of hemi-parkinsonism model rats before and after Madopar treatment. After Madopar treatment, the striatum/cerebellum 125I-IBZM uptake ratio of lesioned side was 7.23 +- 0.67, showed 17.22 +- 3.94% increasing as compared to the contralateral side, the increasing were significantly declined compared with the pretreatment group and control group (P<0.01). The DA, HVA, DOPAC levels in lesioned side striatum of Madopar group were increased compared with the other two groups (P<0.05). All of the above verified that Madopar treatment can elevate DA levels of lesioned striatum in hemi-parkinsonism model rats, and thus prevent and reverse the up-regulation of D2 receptors

AbstractAbstract
[en] Free and total prostate specific antigen (F-PSA and T-PSA) in serum were measured with immunoradiometric assay and the F/T-PSA ratio was calculated in 175 patients with T-PSA levels in the range of 4-20 μg/L. Among them 141 patients were benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), 23 were untreated prostate cancer (Pca untreated) and 11 were treated prostate cancer (Pca treated). The results showed that difference in F-PSA and F/T-PSA ratio for BPH group and Pca untreated group were statistically significant (P<0.01). The effectiveness of F/T-PSA ratio for Pca (89.9%) was higher than F-PSA (54.8%). The receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve showed an improved diagnostic efficacy of F/T-PSA ratio compared with T-PSA for discrimination between BPH and Pca. If mean F/T-PSA ratio value + 1 SE (13.2%) was used in BPH group as discrimination limits of Pca patients, the diagnostic accuracy of BPH group and Pca untreated group were 90.8% and 82.6% respectively. Thereby F/T-PSA ratio may be useful for the differentiation between BPH and prostate cancer

AbstractAbstract
[en] 6 patients were examined by using labelled leukocytes with 99mTc-HM-PAO for the imaging of inflammatory lesions. All of the 3 patients with inflammatory lesions were positive. One colonic carcinoma with hepatic metastasis showed 99mTc-WBC uptake in the primary colonic site. Preliminary clinical application showed that 99mTc-HM-PAO labelled leukocytes could be used for the scintigraphic detection of inflammatory lesions in clinical practice

AbstractAbstract
[en] A technigue for in vitro labelling of human leukocytes with 99mTc-HM-PAO is described. The percentage of labelled leukocytes is 43.0 +- 5.0 (mean +- SD, n = 6). Cell function was not impaired by the labelling procedure. Sterility and exclusion of bacterial endotoxins in the final cell suspensions were demonstrated. In experiments on dogs with abscess, scintigraphic imaging showed accumulation of radioactivity in inflammation lesions, indicating the viability of the labelled leukocytes

AbstractAbstract
[en] 200 patients with central nervous system diseases were studied with 99mTc-HM-PAO and SPECT, including Parkinson's disease (PD) 47, Vascular headache 69, CVD 34, Epilepsy 26, Head truma 10, Brain tumor 5 and other 9 cases. Part of them have been compared with the results of MRI, X-CT and EEG. The positivity of SPECT in PD is 61.7% with decrease perfusion in local area of cerebram and basal ganglia and only 4 cases had lower perfusion in cerebellum; in headache is 46.4%, showing variable perfusion patterns; in CVD is 79.4% with decrease perfusion, luxury perfusion and the phenomenon of 'diaschsis'. In epilepsy, the abnormal foci mostly localize in temporal lobe and have close relation to the results of EEG. In brain tumor it also denotes decreased uptake of tracer. The clinicl singnificance of brain perfusion imaging with 99mTc-HM-PAO was discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] A radioreceptor assay for human growth hormone (hGH) was developed. The receptor preparation was 25,000g pellet from the livers of pregnant rabbits. Iodination of GH with 125I was preformed by the methods of Lactoperoxidase and Iodogen. The sensitivity of assay was 0.67 ± 0.11 ng/ml serum. Serum hGH levels in 72 cases of normal subjects, 102 cases of acromegaly were measured by radioreceptor assay (RRA), and the results were compared with those obtained by radioimmunoassay (RIA)
