AbstractAbstract
[en] An efficient, accurate, and stable solution to the electron transport problem is presented. The two-stream approximation is discussed in detail, but the solution is developed for the general multistream case. Applied to the photoelectron problem, it is shown that accurate escape fluxes are obtained using only 10 altitudes distributed over the region 100 - 1,000 km. The local equilibrium, two-stream, and multistream solutions to the photoelectron problem are compared. In addition, a recursion relation for the moments of the elastic angular scattering phase function is presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] Gammametric testing in connection with modern computer technique results radiographic images of quality class I. The gammametric method is a well known technique in nondestructive testing. A narrowly defined X-ray or a gamma ray beam traverses a workpiece and is recorded by a gamma radiation detector. As the radiation is attenuated in the specimen, changes of its intensity may indicate discontinuities in the material such as flaws, inclusions or cracks. This commonly used method suffers from the disadvantage that no two-dimensional image is obtained as in radiography or radioscopy, but always a transmission curve of a linear section of the workpiece, yielding a quite difficult interpretation of the measurements. For this reason the gammametric method has been restricted to some special application, such as the inspection of very thick walls or for performing very accurate measurements

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this paper, the phase two-form of Berry in the neighborhood of a degeneracy of the Fock vacuum of a semisimple, nonabelian, second-quantized, relativistic fermion-background gauge field Hamiltonian is shown to be that of the Dirac magnetic monopole - thus extending a result of Berry to field theory. The Dirac Hamiltonian for an SU(2) fermion on the two-sphere is solved in a particular two-parameter family of background instanton gauge potentials as an explicit illustrative example
