AbstractAbstract
[en] The Deutsch-like algorithm [Phys. Rev. A. 63 (2001) 034101] distinguishes between even and odd query functions using fewer function calls than its possible classical counterpart in a two-qubit system. But the similar method cannot be applied to a multi-qubit system. We propose a new approach for solving Deutsch-like problem using ensemble computing. The proposed algorithm needs an ancillary qubit and can be easily extended to multi-qubit system with one query. Our ensemble algorithm beginning with a easily-prepared initial state has three main steps. The classifications of the functions can be obtained directly from the spectra of the ancilla qubit. We also demonstrate the new algorithm in a four-qubit molecular system using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). One hydrogen and three carbons are selected as the four qubits, and one of carbons is ancilla qubit. We choice two unitary transformations, corresponding to two functions (one odd function and one even function), to validate the ensemble algorithm. The results show that our experiment is successfully and our ensemble algorithm for solving the Deutsch-like problem is virtual

AbstractAbstract
[en] The theory of finite time thermodynamics is applied to analyze and optimize the performance of a thermoelectric refrigerator, which is composed of multi-elements. For the fixed total heat transfer surface area of two heat exchangers, the ratio of the heat transfer surface area of the high temperature side heat exchanger to the total heat transfer surface area of the heat exchangers is optimized for maximizing the cooling load and the coefficient of performance of the thermoelectric refrigerator. The effects of various parameters on the optimum performance are analyzed. The results may provide guides for the analysis and optimization of practical thermoelectric refrigerators

AbstractAbstract
[en] Subshell and total Photoionization cross sections for AII and UI were calculated for 13 incident photon energies corresponding to X-ray lines in the energy range 132.3 ∼ 1500 eV. In the calculation, the electrons are treated relativistically and non-relativistically as moving in a Hartree-Slater central potential. Relativistic effects on photoionization and the influence on the magnitude of the cross sections of all multipoles of the radiation field are discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] Nonlinear optical single crystals Ca4GdO(BO3)3 (GdCOB) have been grown by the vertical Bridgman method. Bubble-free, twin-free and crack-free GdCOB single crystals 25 mm in diameter and 65 mm in length were obtained. The average thermal expansion coefficients along a-, b- and c-axes from 293 to 1273 K are 10.35x10-6 K-1, 7.78x10-6 K-1 and 13.10x10-6 K-1, respectively. The bulk damage threshold is 130 GW cm-2 for a single pulse of a mode-locked Nd:YAG laser with 35 ps pulse duration. The effective nonlinear coefficient (deff) in the phase matching directions of (θ, φ)=(66.8 deg. , 132.6 deg. ) is 1.51 pm V-1

AbstractAbstract
[en] One of the hypotheses of Einstein's special relativity is the constant speed of light, which directly implies that the photon should be massless, and hence experimental tests of its foundations are always of considerable interest. Based on Proca's equations, some far-reaching implications for nonzero photon mass, for example, the frequency dependence of the speed of light in free space, the deviations of Coulomb's Law and Ampere's Law, the existence of longitudinal electromagnetic waves and the additional Yukawa potential of magnetic dipole fields were seriously studied. Through use of a modulated torsion balance our experimental measurements improved the current upper limits on the photon rest mass by at least two orders, and gave mγ≤1.5 x 10-52 g. Experimental investigations of the photon rest mass are an indirect test of the constancy of the speed of light, and any conclusive evidence of a finite mass for the photon will greatly affect the development of all physics. AbstractAbstract
[en] According to the controversial results of recent experiments for fifth force, a classification of all possible types of theories leading to non-Newtonian forces is presented. The theoretical analysis shows that if the interaction potential differs from the Newton's law the interactions of macro-and micro-bodies are in general distinguishable. The calculation also shows that Long's result can be improved by several orders if the new method proposed is used

AbstractAbstract
[en] Objective: To explore the clinical application of percutaneous puncture and drainage in treating pyogenic liver abscess. Methods: A total of 30 patients with pyogenic liver abscess were treated with ultrasound-guided percutaneous puncture and aspiration of abscess cavity, which was followed by DSA-guided drainage tube placement together with proper washing of abscess cavity. Results: Puncturing and flushing of abscess cavity was performed in two patients with < 4 cm liver abscess, and tube placement as well as drainage was carried out in the other 28 patients with > 4 cm liver abscess. No severe complications occurred. Complete cure was obtained in all the 26 patients who had no malignant tumors. Of the 4 patients with malignant tumor, cure obtained in one and death occurred in three. Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided or DSA-guided percutaneous puncture and drainage therapy is technically simple, less invasive, highly safe and clinically effective treatment for pyogenic liver abscess. AbstractAbstract
[en] The quantized surface mode technique was used to calculate the zero-point energy between two anisotropic parallel plates with nontrivial magnetic properties, one of which is dielectric and the other of which is permeable. The analytical approximate expressions of Casimir force and torque were obtained in the retarded limit. The repulsive Casimir effect can be acquired for some materials with suitable permittivities and permeabilities, which might be measured in a future experiment

AbstractAbstract
[en] To explore the pathogenesis and provide evidence for the diagnosis, therapy and prognosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) by observing the levels of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), endothelins (ET), C-reactive protein (CRP) and atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) in plasma of the patients, BNP, ET, CRP and ANP levels in plasma of 46 AMI patients before and after therapy and 30 normal controls were detected by ELISA and immunoradiometric assay, respectively. Results showed that there were significant differences in BNP, ET, CRP and ANP levels in patients with AMI before and after therapy (P<0.01), and the differences also existed in AMI group and normal controls (P<0.01). There was positive correlation between BNP and CRP before therapy (r=0.874) and after therapy (r=0.654), as well as ANP and ET before therapy. Though the ANP level returned to normal (P>0.05) after thrombolysis and other supporting therapy, the decreased BNP, ET and CRP were still significantly higher than those of control ( P<0.05). The changes of BNP, ANP, ET and CRP indicate that they involved in the occurrence and development of AMI, especially in the formation and disruption of atheromatous plaque and thrombosis. So the detection of BNP, ANP, ET and CRP levels was significant to the diagnosis, therapy and prognosis judgement

AbstractAbstract
[en] The quantized surface mode technique is used to calculate the Casimir torque between two parallel anisotropic metamaterial plates with in-plane optical axes, and our main concern is focused on the impact of the magnetic properties of the plates on the Casimir torque. Our result shows that at small separation, the Casimir torque between the two plates with frequency dependent permeabilities is larger than that between two nonmagnetic plates, while at large separation it is smaller. This can be explained as a result of the impact of both magnetic properties and material dispersion of the plates. The impact of the Drude background in connected metallic metamaterial is also discussed. These phenomena provide us with new understanding about the Casimir effect and show great potential in application.
